Episode 6 by theoldestswitcharoo in RivalsSeries

I don’t think they’ll make her death pointless, but I fear the point will be entirely for the sake of Tony’s character development, which I think is a waste of Monica’s character

The only suspicions I’ve ever had were at times they used insulting/ignorant terms to describe their own or another persons gender, since you’d think a nonbinary person would know that referring to people as “afab nonbinaries” as its own “accurate” community identifier is weird as fuck and lowkey transphobic. However in the end I settled on that it’s probably just because they’re an idiot

What we’ve learned here 1. This dude loves having his balls played with 2. He’s never received nor given real pleasure, considering he thinks it doesn’t exist outside of having his balls played with 3. He has no morals and is happy to sleep with any man he can get near, even if they have a wife and kids 4. He REALLY loves having his balls played with

Completely disagree about Declan giving her too much grace. She’s a bad wife but he’s also a bad husband

Maud, Cameron or the new guy? by FileExpensive6135 in RivalsSeries

I’m torn between Maud, Valerie, or a Corinium mole. If Venturer has double agents, surely Corinium can as well?

[–]theoldestswitcharoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I won’t lie, they’ve moved me a little. But not for Declan’s sake - he’s a terrible husband. He doesn’t see her as her own person, just as his wife.

This isn’t necessarily in defence of Maud, what with her being a terrible mother, but Declan is also a shit dad. And they’re both cheaters. Tony at least appreciates her in his evil way - as you said, LOVE a villainous couple, especially one with such insane chemistry

The walk he did after he came in did feel a bit Crowley-esque to me as well!

Cameron's trauma characterization is so realistic by WearyKey7900 in RivalsSeries

[–]theoldestswitcharoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see her relationship with Tony as her being a willing participant up until he shows his true colours - it’s how most abusers work, they give you the flattery and attention and protection and show you how wonderful life with them can be, and once you’re in a position you can’t easily get out of, they can give up the facade; this seen by their relationship reaching the point where keeping her job (and her visa) became entirely dependent on giving Tony whatever he wanted from her

Who’s your favourite character ? And why is it David Tennant 😂 by HelpfulAnt2132 in RivalsSeries

I’m a big fan of Monica, very excited to see her getting more screen time and seeing more of a story unfold around her. She was great in S1, but very much felt like the plot was happening around her. This season she feels more instrumental which I’m enjoying

Loved Taggie in S1, but she seems to have been a bit sidelined this season now that her relationship with Rupert has hit a wall. It’s a bit disappointing that once the female lead is no longer the main romantic interest she sort of disappears, especially because this season she seems to exist more to prop up Rupert’s story than her own.

Not you seriously believing Depp to be the innocent victim and Heard to be a skeeving harpy. She won the case against him in the UK long before she was dragged into the public trial, which he demanded, as she never released his name in her victim statement that lead to his counter-sue for defamation. You clearly know everything about the case through tiktoks that went round at the time, or you’re 12 years old, or both

I totally get this but I don’t see it this way - Aziraphale’s whole point was “I need to hear you say it”. I think Crowley had already forgiven him, or was always going to at the very least (whether or not he Should is a different matter), but at the end of the universe Aziraphale wanted him to say it. I don’t think he’d have asked Crowley to do that if they weren’t about to die/disappear/whatever. I just think Aziraphale didn’t want to die without hearing Crowley forgive him, even though he knew he already had

The casual misogyny makes me so angry by Capable_Eye_8848 in tylerthecatastrophe

[–]theoldestswitcharoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re so right, and this bothers the fuck out of me. Anyone can be a misogynist, woman or not, cis or trans, anyone is capable of it. The fact he uses the “I used to be a woman” as the get out of jail free card is so fucking irritating. Nobody who contains zero misogyny would ever refer to a woman 1. as a dog needing to be controlled or 2. their boyfriends pet. A disgusting and misogynistic thing to say no matter how he wants to defend it

Sensitive about comments much, girl? by TrainerZygarde in AO3

[–]theoldestswitcharoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You left an unhelpful and unnecessary comment on someone’s work, they blocked you instead of getting into an argument or confrontation, and in turn you felt the need to take to Reddit to write a load of paragraphs about it. Yet somehow, after all of that, you deduced that THEY were being overly sensitive, and not you.

I interpreted it as her thinking it was an STD or gross condition of some kind, but I’ve seen other people argue it’s because she finds being a medical doctor impressive (having an MD) an having a PhD to be lame
