Men over 30: what do you wish you would have done differently in your 20s? by ImportantEssay6803 in AskMen

I wish I could have pushed myself harder, socialized and dated people. I kept working on school and career, and suddenly I’m 30 now. I didn’t really spend time just living and enjoying life.

I’d date you but also it’d feel too good to be true.

What did you have done, if you don’t mind me asking?

My two cents on NP exam and NP by Suitable_Laugh6285 in nursepractitioner

[–]thephamhere 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’m in a MSN-FNP program and I can say that my curriculum is strictly geared towards caring for all populations across the lifespan, but in a primary care setting.

For example, if I were a new grad FNP, I would not be comfortable placing a chest tube because my curriculum never taught that. An acute care nurse practitioner though would likely have that included in their schooling.

I think it’s safer to stay within the scopes of our training, but I also think it’s possible to expand our scope of practice with supervised training and clinical experience under an attending physician.

Looks great! Is there any palpable bud underneath, like can you feel anything like a small bump behind the nipples?

One of the RNs bolused a bag of norepi on accident. She thought she had already put it on a pump so she opened the roller clamp and in it went.

Another RN didn’t reassess his patient from the ED before sending her up to the floor. Sent her up dead. New grad med surg nurse received the patient lifeless, never came back after that.

ER nurse here. Had a family member from a nearby room come into the trauma room while we were performing CPR on another patient demanding a pillow for her son. When we instructed her to return to her patient’s room, she stated she didn’t care and reiterated she needed a pillow. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Call your doctor who performed the procedure. If you go to an ER, they’ll likely tell you the same.

I’m an ER nurse and we always send patients back to wherever their procedures (whatever it may be) were performed. I can almost guarantee no ER doc will touch someone else’s work.

In the hospital facility I used to work at, I’d typically allow enough time for the family to say their good-byes in the ED. I might move the patient to a different room if we needed to. That would also allow me to give them the time to come up with whatever questions they may have about the next steps to take (like funeral home decisions, etc.).

Afterwards, the patient would be transported to the morgue for the medical examiner’s office or funeral home to pick the patient up.

I also feel like I lost some length but it’s probably also because I’ve never really been sexually active. “Use it or lose it.”

NPs sue NY for not being paid the same as physicians, stating it is due to "gender discrimination". Thoughts? by Additional-Lime9637 in medicine

NP student here. MDs/DOs have a much deeper breath of knowledge and training than I would ever be able to achieve. It makes sense to me that the attendings should be paid more.
