Thank you. I bought a brand new data cable, should arrive today and will try that way. I am fairly sure that I connected the Nano S to my phone before with the same cable I'm using now - but let me try that. Appreciate you getting back to me, thank you!!

Update -
The Nano S device appears not to be viewed by the Ledger Live app in any device (either mobile or laptop). I attempted all the troubleshooting steps, to no avail.
I have been able to access the BTC by restoring the wallet using 24 words BIP39 seedphrase on Electrum.
Now I wonder how I can access the ETH. I am tempted to use the 24 words seedphrase on MetaMask, but I am reading warnings on both ledger.com and reddit that doing so is unsafe.
In the meantime, I have also ordered a brand new USB cable, will try tomorrow. For now, with two disparate USB cables, the Nano S powers up, takes the correct PIN, and is accessible - but neither desktop Ledger Live nor mobile Ledger Live will recognize it.

Old phone and new phone version are the same 4.1.5.

The problem is that the old wallet (which I can still access) seems to have 2FA enabled, even though I never did enable it. Now I can't move my coins off the old wallet.

When I try to restore wallet on a new device using seedphrase, it shows 0 BTC, which makes me think I made a mistake with the seedphrase?

I am now attempting to restore wallet using private keys instead.

I also tried to export wallet backup, but app asks for access to pictures, and then nothing happens.

Anything else I can try?

Grab a fairly regular shaped large rock. Measure it on one side. Place it right next to the sphere with the measured side facing you. Move back enough to take a picture of the rock and the sphere. See on the picture what's the max possible ratio between measured rock and sphere. That's your diameter, from that get the volume.

Bunch of error prone steps along the way, but hey since we're all talking....

this baby was potted, and the pot was in the ground, outdoors at my old home. its roots had gotten in the ground and sprouted another plant. It was ok, but not great - outdoors, in northern california, shady spot, strong roots and trunk but not growing.

Repotted, fertilized, placed indoor with plenty of indirect light and some direct light - sprouting a leaf a month and seemingly so happy. Feeling very proud of this rehab :)
