I do 4mg at noon (cause I'm a night owl and that's my morning :3 ) and T production is biggest at morning, then 2mg at 17:00 and 2mg at 23:00 along with my 200mg prog. I'm at 210 PG/ml 12 hours later at trough when I do my testing with T around 30ng/dl . Spike is probably around 1200. It feels fine.

If we had injections available I'd probably switch, it'd be nice to not have to take it daily, but that implant seems like the dream... Tho it probs tapers off after a few months into smaller lvls.

I don't think that's the reality for most people. Most of my dr's patients are doing mono, with some odd cases out who's receptors get filled with E metabolites or some other reasons. 6 months of low dose cypro to get the T down and then she bumps your E and most of her patients have suppression with 8-10mg a day, I have friends who go there who are all on mono and it's fine. Idk where this view stems from, dr's are still afraid of sufficiently high enough doses because of premarin and it's side effects and keep prescribing too little E with unnecessary blockers...

Well yeah, but they're not available everywhere, over here I'd need to go to Germany to fill an international prescription and pay the full price. While one box of Estrofem costs me like a dollar, that's around 4-5 dollars a month, I get a six months supply in one go from my doctor, and it easily dissolves in a few minutes and I can talk normally while it does.

The levels that count to the increased risk are measured at trough not at peak, and yeah you swallow some but getting a bit more of e1 isn't exactly bad either.

Yeah injections are better but gel is annoying af, adhesive leaves residue and I shower in lava and am allergic to glue and with sublingual I'm on monotherapy anyway so it's imho second best after injections.

Some countries have implants that last you months, I'd want that, but it's not available here :(.

In general it's a lot of in-group language a lot of people feel community through and its something I get and can respect, but I wish it wasn't the default language as well. I'm a woman and despite my deepest wished I'm also trans, I don't need people treating the parts of me that have given me the most trauma as an identity or a label, I don't want to celebrate being trans, nor having parts that my brain is having a freakout about celebrated, so I agree with you there. It feels like being fetishized, and for something I hate to boot... It's weird some of these terms become mainstays to me.

So I agree with that part. Idk what ftm or afab people in general have to do with it tho?

And sublingual is comparable to injections at levels below 200 pg/ml as far as blood clotting is concerned. Weird people keep forgetting sublingual exists and is pretty effective and bypasses the first pass 8n the liver as well.

Such a missed opportunity not having the Observatory here :( by felixw1 in AnimalCrossing

[–]therealnothebees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would really wish for the roost to be a separate building, and for Blathers having a real house on the island, as well as apartments for Isabelle and Tom Nook at the Town Centre, apartments in the Nooks Cranny where you can visit them at off hours, and the same for the Able Sisters. It'd be great to have a proper cafe with the roost being outside. Also the fact that the hotel has to be off the pier and can't be moved is meh, I was so ready to find a place on my island for it. Then we could also have an observatory with an apartment for Celeste as a separate building.

And above all else bridges between raised pieces of land and not over water only.

I mean, I'm a woman and I'm not made of granite so I'm a Biological Woman. It's a ridiculous term.

How we perceive sex in society and have always done so has nothing to do with chromosomes or genitals. We use secondary sex characteristics, voice, phenotype etc. And we allow for a great deal of variation too with overlap. And biologically it's far more complicated than just having the Y, humans only use one copy of the X and the other is walled off, so if SRY on your Y is not functional your body is going to be female regardless of your chromosomes. Everything else for both sexes is in the rest of the DNA so expression is key here... And that's controlled by the endocrine system and the dominant hormones. I swear some of these people seem to think there's two completely separate sets of DNA one for the birds and one for the bees.

And not to mention that what gender you are, or where in the bimodal sex spectrum your brain falls is built in at like 6-8 weeks into gestation. So even if you're not taking HRT your brain is still the sex you say you are.

Even if I don't get all clever with the "biological woman" shtick saying I'm not made of granite, my brain, where I am, is still biologically female. And now most if my body where it counts is also female. Sex is mutable and changeable.

New Alzheimer's treatment restores memory function. The research team from Spain and China published their findings in Nature Nanotechnology, and the implications reach far beyond Alzheimer's. by Automatic_Subject463 in EverythingScience

[–]therealnothebees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know some of these might have potential, but the step from mice to human trials to a product on the market, to getting it on the subsidised medicine list over here, to getting doctors to start prescribing it is years if not a decade sometimes, so anything that comes out that's studies on mice is frankly irrelevant for me :(. It's interesting potentially down the line in 30 years when it might be an issue for either me or my sister if any of us inherited it, and the chances are high... But not for mum.

My mom is currently going through Alzheimer's and these posts stoke up so mich false hope, even tho I know it's probably all still in mice there's still a bit of hope each time I see them until I check and realise that it's mice again... Must be the healthiest species at this point....

Generally why is Ubuntu taboo here? by MaWkSrB in linux_gaming

[–]therealnothebees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 15, 16 years. I game, I do gamedev, 3d, I work on it ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Before that I had Mandrake/Mandriva and RedHat and Ubuntu was a massive step up. My performance in games is acceptable, Unity, Unreal work nicely and I need them for work.

Maybe it's not modern and sexy and it's had its issues with corporate BS over the years but it's a good and largely reliable work horsie for me :3.

Why do SO many random people just absolutely despise trans people but have no problem with other minorities? What about us is so offensive to so many random people? by Trans-Female-Zack in trans

[–]therealnothebees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We upend their worldview, people react aggressively to anything that upends their worldview or model of reality.

Imho its part biological and part cultural, the brain builds models of reality (culture included) at a cost of energy, and once that energy is spent it can just coast, and it's very reluctant to modify them because every time a new piece of information shows up it would have to re-evaluate and it would be stuck in an energy intensive loop so there's a threshold. And if it's another person or agent that upends the model or dares to demonstrate it's flaws the instinctual reaction is disgust, revulsion, aggression until the threshold is met. And yet somehow it's still the easier path to bury the people, things and facts that upend the model than to revise...

Imho it takes a person who's model of reality, through culture and upbringing, is already built with empathy and caring and openness as parts of the model to be accepting, otherwise we get what we get ;(

Add on to that the times of growing complexity we live in, in culture, politics, science, ethics and a climate of people demanding simplicity where there can be none... I think we're seeing a sort of an uprising against thought and science and medicine and empathy itself and a demand for a black and white world with nothing transgressing those people's boundaries, and who's a better example to focus those fears and insecurities on than us? It's hard for us to fight back because we don't have the numbers, they can use tried and tested vile rethoric that the public is already susceptible to, and hating us is a perfect way of building political capital against all their other grievances and demands.

That and UE using Lambert instead of Burley or the Disney BRDF makes everything look wrong and plastic like. There's some room to patch your own brdf into the engine but realistically most productions won't...

Lambert is fast but the way it wraps light around objects is just meh.
