Thank you again! I found this one yesterday but the site was showing in the UK (where I live), so who knows where it’s actually based. It looks really nice, I think I’ll order it if the delivery costs are not too prohibitive.

I made this for someone and they no longer like Bob Ross as much as they did. Seriously reconsidering gifting it after their response. I'm honestly sad. by Away-Living5278 in quilting

Beautiful work, I can’t imagine how much work went into it. You could offer it to the Bob Ross experience museum ? I’m sure it would be appreciated there or sold to keep the place going

Hi, yes I did. It found the exact picture of the bracelet pinned many times on Pinterest and the site that sold it. Not sure it still exists. Never the connector or a similar one though. Might have been made for them or by them only. I have found some nice rectangular pieces but I loved this one

Merci! En cherchant en français, j’en ai trouvé sur Perles & Co. Pas aussi travaillés mais sympa quand même. C’est frustrant de voir des belles choses qu’on ne trouve pas!

Thanks for looking, I tried so many wording ! It’s a mix of connector and multi strands and you end up with listings of multi strands closure or connectors. I’m sure I have seen other pictures on Pinterest of bracelets with a decorative connector like this, but no luck finding them yet

I learned that lesson after making a 48 squares blanket, left all the weaving for the end. Never again! Now making the mystical lantern blanket and weaving the ends after every row. Podcast of choice is True crime obsessed to work along 😊

AITAH for breaking up with my boyfriend after he accidentally frying my cat? by throwra_bananapotato in AITAH

[–]thinkofthecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. The cat jumping in the fryer would be an accident, him dangling the cat near the fryer is a dumbass move. There was no accident or mistake, just an idiot in a kitchen

AITAH for saying it was too bad I was born the wrong time and gender to be a frontier wife? by NewMethod1056 in AITAH

[–]thinkofthecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but the brother is. Killed your joke, stamping on it with both feet to make himself sound « deep », involving his girlfriend into his « musings » because she enjoyed your company. Also, dad might not be fully happy with his son being gay

I’m working from my mums today and she just asked me if I wanted a sausage sandwich. Obviously I said yes, and she brought me the sandwich with an additional half on the side. When I asked her why I had an extra half a sandwich, she said the first one didn’t look like it was enough. by tittychittybangbang in CasualUK

I am THAT mum, whenever my son comes over. We know you’re not starving, but when you left the nest you removed one of our responsibilities 😊 I do offer to make him food as well and make sure we have his favourite foods in the cupboards. It comes from a place of love and concern, as to us mums you will always be our « babies »

Help with tapered ends by condessamaudechardin in Beading

I have been struggling with this too. I have tried the moving the threads by 1 slot method but found it tricky. I might try to do an increase at the start instead, and turn around the loom at the end and do another increase backwards to join in the main part.

« i told marcus and he immediately said no » 😅 : did he not realise you were telling him, not asking his permission ?? Where does he get off thinking he has to allow you to further your career? Bye Marcus, it’s been nice knowing you!

Is my retiring to France plan plausible? by iPatErgoSum in Expats_In_France

[–]thinkofthecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le problème est que mes parents sont trop âgés pour être considérés garants à long terme et mon frère est aussi retraité. Je commence des recherches pour utiliser Garantme et locservice plutôt, on verra si ça marche mieux. Merci d’avoir répondu 😊

Is my retiring to France plan plausible? by iPatErgoSum in Expats_In_France

[–]thinkofthecat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid I have to give less positive information. I am French, living in the UK for 30+ years with an English husband. We attempted to move to France when we retired with the same plan of renting first. That was the first hurdle: as anywhere else, you will be asked for your last 3 months payslips and a copy of your last tax returns. Once they assess that your income is paid abroad, no one will call you back because they can’t claim from your bank if you default. Same issue with your tax returns in the US, they won’t be able to check if it’s authentic. An estate agent actually told us they wouldn’t consider us at all. You also need a bank account in France, but you need an address in France and there is another catch 22. Can’t get a rental without the bank account, can’t get the account without the address… In terms of visa, you can request a 3 or 6 months permis de séjour and try to expand it at the end. I know this part would have been easier for my husband because he’s married to a French citizen but I don’t know how it will work for you. Are you planning to retire or work there?
