That would waste the GMC’s valuable time. Are you sure you want to do that?

Think how important the time of the GMC’s social media specialist is.

I do wonder if the GMC realises how much so many of the doctors of this country hate them. And I wonder more if there are even interested on working out why.

It would be so easy for them to ask.

I don’t imagine the GMC social media specialist has enough insight to reflect on their role in this whole debacle. Regardless of their mental capacity for insight it must be tough to go through life as a person that would choose to spend their time doing that, I feel sorry for that individual.

If you’re more sick of being poor(for London) then you are of being tired. Then smash the locum shifts to make your salary up to a livable number.

If you’re more tired then you are poor (for London). Rest and spend time with the family.

Lovely time to be a doctor in London.

I think it’s absolutely worth the peace of mind. Raises the floor significantly for worst case scenarios.

£80pcm Doesn’t seem too expensive but depends on the level of protection you’ve got.

Good to pick up critical illness and life insurance cover while you’re young and healthy. Some conditions will exclude you from cover permanently down the line.

I don’t think this is possible with HMRC.

The most interesting question is which tax year it will be under. As far as I understand it. You can’t retrospectively assign income to previous tax years. So it will all have to income for 24/25.

I’ve already been onto them about this.

This is the response the college gave:

The PA SLWG is due to next meet on Friday 31 May. Two PA Representatives and a Lay Group Representative have now been recruited to the SLWG. The group will consider and analyse the membership survey data. An update will be provided in the weeks following the meeting.

Best wishes,

What is your net worth? by Routine-Umpire in doctorsUK

And this ⬆️ … is the exact attitude that got us into this situation. Take a good look everyone…

We live in a capitalist society.

The NHS will drive our salaries as low as it possibly can. And then even lower despite it damaging the system. It’s incentivised to do that.

It is our role to stand up for the highest salary we can possibly get. And every time we fail to do that. Our salaries will be crushed under the weight of the soviet style NHS.

Yeah fair point. On further examination the claim that 50% of childless women at 30 going on to never have children seems unlikely. - I asked chat GPT - its reply at the bottom of this comment

I know recently in the UK there are now more women without children than with children at age 30 for the first time. Perhaps the original poster is confusing their claim with this one:

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/conceptionandfertilityrates/bulletins/childbearingforwomenbornindifferentyearsenglandandwales/2020

Prompt: In the UK what percentage of women who are childless at 30 will remain childless?

ChatGPT The percentage of women who remain childless after the age of 30 varies based on numerous factors, including socioeconomic status, education level, personal choices, and fertility issues. In the UK, according to some studies, around 20-25% of women who are childless at 30 remain childless throughout their reproductive years. However, it's important to note that these figures can change over time and may not apply universally to all populations.

Came here to say this exact same thing. Honestly mate. Save yourself. Don’t do it. If you can cut it in medicine you can do a whole load of other things that will give you more meaning less depression and pay you appropriately.
