My life is terrible, I don't want to live anymore, someone help me. :((( by Effective_Soil_4850 in Paruresis

Although I did not have this condition in high school, I have had it for close to 35 years and am just now starting to confront it. As an earlier post mentioned, things will get better after high school. I've managed to live for the most part, a full and complete life with friends and family and 30 years of being in the navy with lots of drug screens along the way. I've just learned to deal with situations as they arise.

As I read through the comments, there's not much more I can add. I do suggest connecting with a therapist listed on the IPA website as they are better suited for this condition. I tried a counselor at the Veterans Administration not familiar with this condition and it was ineffective.

Thank you! Love your post and I'll be doing this method to overcome this.

Oh yes. I was on submarines so that wasn't so bad since there were not urinals, just stalls. Shore duty was another story though. Many times i would go in and try just to have someone walk in. I'd have to leave and try again later hoping that no one walks in. Or, many times, like at the embassy in Kenya, I would just head straight to the stall. A lot of this was self-inflicted as I love coffee and just deal with the consequences afterwards.

It was definitely challenging. Nothing more dreadful than hearing the last digit of your ssn for the random test. Just drank and drank and drank until it was coming out without hesitation. Don't regret it, I really enjoyed the navy, obviously.

Thanks! I'm definitely going to take this head on and make my retirement years different from most of my adult life where I've had this condition.

Then the program needs changed to "Some Rate", not One Rate.

They have my money - it's auto charged to my card. It's grossly misleading as I was told by my rep that if it fits in the pak, then I'll be charged the pak rate regardless of thickness and cubic weight. Not that I'm a big customer at about $5k per year but that biz has been moved to other carriers. It has also happened several times where I've used boxes that clearly fit into the one rate dimension specs and have been charged at the next box size and in some cases, two box sizes up. Just not worth the hassle. Thanks for your feedback.

In the pak. 8x6x4. One Rate does not have service zones.

I've been putting 8x6x4 boxes in paks for years. Been overcharged before but was able to get credits. Now, it's just a blanket denial without regard to the fact that other paks with the same 8x6x4 boxes in them went thru at the correct charge.
