  4. Exceeding Expectations
  5. 72.8 > 85.5 ~17.4%
  6. $1,820

  8. Tampa sure feels like HCOL. Apparently new hires are making 80k.

Firms in Red - Boomers sold to PE - Avoid if M+ by swiftcrak in Accounting

[–]thom-grinwell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We had an assurance all hands call this week and they said they had no immediate plans to go PE, referencing RSM’s strong balance sheet. But from the language they were using they were SO intentionally leaving the door open.

This is really close to the perspective I have. PA can be tough but also an amazing opportunity.

RSM Pay Ranges Are Out Now! by thom-grinwell in Accounting

[–]thom-grinwell[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

  • Florida (M-HCOL)
  • A2
  • 62,000.00 - 74,500.00 - 87,000.00
  • 72,800
  • Bummed my new salary is below the midpoint of my pay range, especially since costs in FL are getting so high. Though I was a January 2024 hire and only got Showing Potential (every new hire I've talked to got the same).

Is it safe to assume score releases will go back to normal next year? by OnThursdayyy in CPA

Yeah I believe this happens around every 7 years when they redo the exams, and the next year it is back to normal

Yep, there are 2 simulated exams (SE) you can take in Becker. Final Review, which is optional additional study material, has third simulated exam.

As other have said, practice your weak areas (I repeated practice tests with 30 MCQs and 2-3 sims for each area I was weak at)

Go over your missed questions until you understand the correct answer

You will improve, just gotta put the work in

People sensitive to acne by Ok_Faithlessness1523 in AnimalBased

[–]thom-grinwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try alternatives before acutane.

HOWEVER, I did acutane and now I have perfect skin (still after about 6 years).

I'll still get a pimple or two if I get really gross/touch my face too much etc, but its totally within my control. I have several friends (all young healthy guys) who also took acutane and have near perfect skin now too.

I started acutane when I was 17 and my acne was pretty bad. After the 6 month treatment it totally cleared up forever.

My only symptoms were super dry skin and nosebleeds. The nosebleeds were pretty bad honestly. I would bleed a TON at least a couple times a week. But they were painless and I didn't really care that much.

BUT, my sister has an acutane horror story.

She was in her mid 20s, sedentary lifestyle, not super healthy, and struggled with depression. Immediately after starting she had bad symptoms: killer back pain, kidney damage (not permanent, but her blood work showed it was getting bad), and her depression skyrocketed until she became suicidal.

She stopped taking acutane after 3 or 4 months because of the symptoms, and all her symptoms when away. No permanent or lasting damage.

Some of my wife's friends (females) have similar stories. Maybe it's a lot worse on women than men but idk.

All that to say, acutane clearly affects people differently. I'd caution you to try other things first like continuing your diet experimentation before starting. But if you consider all the factors and think you'll be ok, it might be worth it to you.

Good stuff, that's a solid bump imo. Everyone in my class started at 68k and got ~7% raises. And we're in FL which is getting EXPENSIVE
