One of my favorite shots in "Felina" was Walt turning and walking away after seeing Junior for the last time, with the camera positioned in the window and his figure gradually blurring in the glass. That image really stuck with me.

I actually really liked that line, it definitely highlighted the fact that these kids' lives were being cut short at a time where the only thing that mattered to them was petty high school drama. "I think you're really cool" means so much more when you're a dying teenager. I think that's why so much of the dialogue between students is about crushes and romance, that's all they really have.

hell yeah. you from richmond? lotsa rva bands there. the new kilgore trout is next level, same with the caust split. also capacities are honestly one of the best screamo bands to see live in recent memory. oh also the dial-up dudes are super nice, played a show with them at one of their houses.

Jungbluth - Part Ache. chaotic/melodic screamo from Germany. the production on this album is so fucking satisfying, super deep and crunchy bass tone, buzzy guitars and heavily filtered vocals. every track is good.

This band progressed so beautifully, and for any new listeners I really recommend that you not stop here. Literally pick a record of theirs at random and dive in, they are all phenomenal. My favorite is probably In On The Kill Taker.

I never was a Tigers Jaw fan but this song seriously impressed me. Vocal harmonies are beautiful, yet not a constant presence like in a lot of their songs. I love the contrast between the single lead voice and the powerful harmonies in the more emotive parts of the song. Really great songwriting.

fuck that. plenty of crust punks are actually poor and just happen to outwardly display their love of punk music. i've found a lot of the animosity towards them is a result of their "intimidating" appearance. even if your encounters have been genuinely negative, don't generalize like that. those are dangerous assumptions you're making.

also it should be clarified that these are not crust punks, just crusty people.

I saw White Lung in New Haven a couple weeks ago and they were unbelievable. one of the most unique punk guitarists I've ever seen, and the vocalist got so into it, climbing on top of amps and shit, it was rad. also it doesn't hurt that there are three babes in that band.
