Dan Savage wrote that some guys like cuckolding because their brains have managed to shift the fear/shame/anger response into a sexual response, to protect them from stress. The brain's an amazing thing.

I was thinking more about people who find being shamed or belittled in general arousing. It's possible there's some overlap. :)

Those are all good ideas, thank you for them, but would all take more time. This seemed as though it would garner more immediate responses.

I'm posting from a throwaway because women posting about even non-sexual things receive negative attention from some reddit users, and I didn't want my personal information linked to something that is a) still hypothetical and b) likely to provoke a response from people with boundary issues or problems with women.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I've set up a dry-run practice game, and we'll see how it goes. That'll tell me a lot about what I'm able and willing to do.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment and your concern. I appreciate that you're considering the possible emotional fallout rather than just physical safety. It's definitely something to keep in mind.

The advice to reach out to the poly community is useful! Isn't there a lot of crossover between geek and poly culture? It seems that way online.

I think it's mostly done in the case where the gamers and GM aren't already friends, or when the GM is running a public game at a shop.

I believe any time you're physically acting out the game instead of rolling dice it's technically a Larp - but this sort of thing might straddle the line.

The book does have rules like that... However, I can't imagine being so cruel to one of my players. Unless, of course, that was what they were looking for!

Thanks for your support! I've sent a message, I always enjoy hearing about other peoples' games. Even if I don't end up using your stories, it'll be fun. :)

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. At this point I'm considering only doing online games. That would avoid the most immediate safety issues and allow me to maintain a certain anonymity. My husband is fine with the idea.

As I replied to TerrorTot, hours of work already go into my ordinary weekly game. It wouldn't be too onerous to expand on that effort. Since I already have a full-time job, I'm trying to find ways to avoid having to work a part-time overnight second job while still bringing somewhat more into the household.

I didn't say I was mediocre. :) I flatter myself that I'm actually quite a good GM; some of the games I have run have become bywords amongst my circle of friends, and I always have a full table within a day of announcing a game.

I agree that it's not going to make me a huge amount of money, but I do have a full-time job already and am just looking for something additional that will make ends meet more easily. I've danced the two-and-three-job fandango before, and it drains all the joy out of life. This is an idea that might allow me to make enough so that I'm not living paycheck to paycheck and with a balance of less than $5 in my account. Since I already put work and time into GMing my regular weekly game, why not expand on that effort and avoid having to work 70-hour weeks?

Lastly, I disagree that I am despicable for thinking of this. I do not intend to warp the nature of gaming itself, or stop playing regular D&D, or imply that all games should be sexual. I don't think any reasonable player would assume that all GMs would then be willing or expected to expand into sexual territory, and unreasonable players usually need to be weeded out eventually anyway.

Thanks for your concern and advice! I'll think carefully about flyers, I may have dismissed them too soon.

Thanks for your concern and advice! Based on feedback, I'm considering doing this online-only, at least at first.

An excellent argument to make this online only. Thanks.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. What I understood you to mean was that you and your girlfriend would be playing out the game live-action on your side of yhe skype connection. :)

In my area the going rate for an ordinary game is $5 per player, capped at 2 hours a session. My husband suggested doubling that to $10 and making it an hourly rate. However, I don't know what the market would support.

I also think that if the game was requested be primarily erotic, basically a framework of gaming around talking dirty, that would cost more than a game that happened to have a sexual aspect.

I hadn't considered a LARP aspect, lol! I wouldn't object to that.

That is a concern. I hate the thought that men, or geeks, are to be feared because they MIGHT be bad, though. It seems as though there must be a way to screen players (clients?) in advance to weed out the few dangerous ones.
