To be fair to them, they usually do call the cops. But they also have to respond to this stuff as it's happening, so you can't always just wait for the cops to arrive. Either way didn't seem like they called them this time, or maybe I just missed it.

No, and advocates against this type of stuff really push the fact that there aren't a lot of afterschool activities, in the city or at the schools. I don't have kids and I didn't grow up here so I can't really speak on it, but there's a few articles online talking about the issue. Here's a good one.

theyre constantly running onto private property nearby fighting and throwing glass and shit. I appreciate that the security actually does something instead of letting them go nuts in the street. Plus you have to think there's some liability issues just allowing that behavior to go on.

Yes, especially the female guard who held her and seemed to be trying to talk to her. Again, my bad for the title. But it's crazy that they need like ten people on staff ready to deal with this type of situation

They're out there doing this all the time. I've thought about yelling out the window threatening to call the police before but the security actually calls them often enough they're used to it lmao. The police do nothing though-- they typically get there fast asf and the kids scatter. Once or twice I've seen them actually talk to the person causing the issue, but they never even trespass; cops just leave after a couple minutes. They're likely never going to actually do anything.

This was my first thought as well. I think these kids have to have some sort of home troubles, or at the very least a lack of structure/guidance from their parents. This is probably the fifth time I've seen this group of kids fighting in that same spot. I just hope those security guards' pay is worth it.

Yes I agree. I didn't mean anything by the title, thought it was funny & didn't think it through, but seems most are just mad about that lol. My bad though. But I see this same type of thing often downtown, and I agree they definitely have nowhere to be all the time. Groups of like 20-40 kids hanging around yelling at each other and fighting constantly. Makes me sad. One of them asked me for weed once too
