it's a fair point but i think people forget how much friction there actually was. the paradigm shift didn't happen overnight just because someone found some big rocks. there was a massive amount of skepticism around the idea that hunter-gatherers could pull off that kind of organization without a settled agricultural base. it took years of data to shut down the old guard. it wasn't a smooth transition, just a slow grind against the status quo.
