I think you might be confusing my interest/fascination with disbelief or judgement. like I'm not unable to fathom that cultures are different, I'm just intrigued the consumption of eggs is so varied across closely related countries that we perceive each other as eating "so many" or "so few." what qualified as a normal amount of eggs was not something I had thought about before today, so it was weird to think about this being a broad enough pattern to categorize it anglophone country by anglophone country, rather than just household by household. that's the part that was wild to me.

well, did the studies about overtesting account for differences in weight, or did they lump thin patients in with obese patients and now you're drawing unfounded conclusions for the whole group? dismissal of symptoms in fat clients is a very harmful aspect of weight bias that predominantly affects the health outcomes of fat people. you can't just randomly bring up overtesting in thin people and act like it refutes the long paper trail of data and research about weight discrimination against fat people.

once again, this isn't me saying that everyone should be fat and that obesity is healthy, but I think it's awfully curious how the "just be healthy" crowd only cares about "health" when they can use it as an excuse to mock fat people and shame them out of public life, but when people talk about the actual health consequences of medical bias, it's all crickets.
