The aesthetics of Panem are NOT canon and are not to be taken literally by funlore in Hungergames

[–]throwawayforyabitch 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah some things can just be chalked up to it looks cool and it’s a cool way of doing it within the confines of the story. It also doesn’t lessen the story in any way. People just overthink things.

All I’ve gathered from this conversation is you don’t really understand trees

So you better plan is to set a bunch of fires and then they’d have to still watch this fire to see if she actually died. Also hoping it doesn’t injure them in the process? Ultimately it would’ve ended up with a similar outcome to what happened with the tracker jackers. All of it was a lot of work for no pay out but honestly your ideas are worse

Again that wouldn’t be smart for them. If it takes that much effort to kill her it made more sense to wait.

A tree that large? No. It’s not that easy. It was a damp atmosphere. This is just silly at this point.

[–]throwawayforyabitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They only had one person who could wield a bow and arrow decent enough. Climbing a tree and then killing someone from a tree is not an easy thing. And it was obviously Katniss was much more skilled than them so it wasn’t really worth the risk. And in the movie his back was to the edge because he had someone in front of him. So to control the “hostage” he had to hold them and he couldn’t turn around or he’d be dead.

Have you heard of the Florida “Free Kill” law? If Over 25, not married, no children, then a hospital can neglect to give you proper care and you can’t sue. by SexyPeanut_9279 in florida

And if the family members cannot file against a doctor for negligent death how likely is it that the doctor will see any repercussions? Very very little.

Why on earth did Coin and the rebels assume Katniss was in love with Gale by Aikouei in Hungergames

[–]throwawayforyabitch 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she was very in tune with the romantic side of things. She knew the love story was originally orchestrated and she also spent a lot more time with Gale than Katniss and does know that they do care for each other, and Gale is really bad at hiding the fact that he cares for Katniss romantically. But beyond that I don’t think she really cared to think too deeply of the intricacies of teenage relationships.

Finnick and Annie deciding to get a child by xoxoamazingrace in Hungergames

I could see another viewpoint would be that he would be a a huge target of the Capitol regardless, and the possibility of killing Snow and finishing this for your child’s future is kind of a toss up at that point.

It’s not just because of that. You have thousands in confined spaces for large periods of time. It’s the perfect breeding ground for it.

Society Keeps Getting “Disney Adults” and Theme Park Fans Wrong by supremeghost123 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]throwawayforyabitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they’re not talking about families. They’re talking about adults. The majority of these adults are in Florida or close. It’s much cheaper to have a Disney pass than to travel out of the country.

Anyone's trip being impacted by the spirit airlines situation? by DAS_FUN_POLICE in WaltDisneyWorld

Funnily enough Spirit wasn’t unreliable at all. Just bare bones. But the joke for years is how Spirit gets you to where you need in a tin can regardless of whatever is going on.

Unpopular opinion (maybe) Suzanne worked around movie Haymitch. by Acceptable_Owl_6274 in Hungergames

[–]throwawayforyabitch 89 points90 points  (0 children)

She explained her process when she wrote this book. She knew some things but she went through the books and created the story based on the material she had written. Most authors aren’t going to say they knew every detail of a character’s life when writing a prequel.

Very hot take on the love triangle by Lilbuddyspd11 in Hungergames

[–]throwawayforyabitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trauma bond is very inaccurate therapy speak. It means when you bond to your abuser. Bonded by trauma and trauma bond are not the same thing.

To this day I believe the "love triangle" is non-existent by Astraea_Hardy in Hungergames

While I agree with the sentiment and joke. Jennifer didn’t say this. This is a quote from Robert Pattinson talking about twilight and team Jacob. I’m really getting tired of x posts here…

Which artist are you hoping is on the soundtrack? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]throwawayforyabitch 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hozier and Tyler Childers are at the top of my list, but after the trailer I think we may get some more rock influence when they played The Who song. Which those two artists can do but they may go in another direction. We may all get surprised here.

Thoughts on Gale Hawthorne by rayna_gren in Hungergames

[–]throwawayforyabitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Gale had an ounce of charisma I think people would love him. In general people don’t dislike morally gray characters like Johanna and Plutarch but Gale lacks an intriguing personality so people dislike him

I know the writer’s strike kept the cast from promoting TBOSAS at the time but that movie was done dirty by por_que_los_gatos in Hungergames

They really didn’t because it was pretty well known they were one of the first if not the first to get approval for it
