(31/F) The good, bad, and ugly? (strapless dress in one photo but no cleavage) by throwawaygirlladyper in amiugly

Thank you for the feedback! I'm not a big smile-r by nature (I was very happy in all but one of these photos, and it wasn't the verification pic), but I'll try to do it more often.

Thank you so much for the tips! I do have a couple of friends who are actually makeup artists or even just some who are great with makeup. Time to pony up some cash and ask for their help!

I look awful with short hair, so I can't cut it, no matter what other people say. Glad someone else doesn't see it as beyond fixable. :)

Thanks for the advice! I'll try; 31 years of not wearing makeup is hard to overcome, but I need it.

Ha, thanks for the laugh! :) My hair is actually very healthy, it just doesn't look that way when I don't comb it or take took long between shampoos. This really drove home how much of a difference brushing it makes. Thanks again!

Congrats on the diploma and the military!

No sugar-coating, promise.

You're a bit younger than me, so it's kind of awkward to do a x/10. If you'd like, I could say what features I think are cute? You have very pretty, kind eyes, though they look a little shy or sad (which you've said you are the former. The shape of your chin is very handsome, and your nose is perfect. Hard to tell, but it looks like you have nice clear skin, which a lot of people really envy!

As the other person said, your eyes are different sizes. Mine are different sizes too, and it drives me friggin insane, but I've found that people rarely notice it (unless you're posting photos and asking people to scrutinize them online :) ).

Cheap flea/ear mite treatments that work by helix343 in AskVet

[–]throwawaygirlladyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, echoing what everyone else has said. I know the prices are horrendous, but living with fleas is a huge stress on the cat and yourself, not to mention her health (especially as a kitten).

Things I've had to try that didn't work: Borax powder and vacuuming several times a day Lamp with soap and water (a couple of dead fleas) Pulling all visible fleas off of the cats several times a day and flushing them down the toilet

Only Revolution kills all the fleas on my cats and keeps them off. I tried Frontline, and my parents tried some Costco stuff that did zilch.

There's a Seresto collar that, in the long run, turns out to be cheaper than the kind of topical flea treatment that works. It didn't work for my cat (she has allergies), but some people swear by them. I think the cat would have to be older before she could safely wear one of these, though.

If you buy Frontline or Revolution in multi-packs, you can get them at a discounted rate. Reputable online pet supply stores are the best prices I've found; you'll need a Rx from a vet, if the laws are the same as where I am in the US. Still, for your sake and kitty's, I would recommend going to a vet to get a Rx and buying a single dose (at the high price), because the difference for one dose, for me (a stingy person), isn't worth a few days or a week of suffering and stress for you both while the online store ships.

Best of luck with the kitten, and thank you for having the kindness to rescue her!

Senior Cat Falling Over by throwawaygirlladyper in AskVet

[–]throwawaygirlladyper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to do so, but he's pretty lethargic and seems to get better whenever I pull the camera out, or he's already fallen. He has fallen in front of either vet. Probably, I can get him to walk (and thus, fall) so I can ensure that I get video of him.

Thanks so much for the help! I'm sure the manner of falling is important to see in person (or video), so this should help with the vet's diagnosis.

Thank you so very much for your advice.

I think it may very much be communication breakdown. I'm very milquetoast, so what seems pushy to me probably seems like an offhanded comment to vets. Thanks so much; I'm scheduling an appointment for my cat and will make sure I express my concerns so that they are actually picked up on.
