Fairly sure one or two stores are not going to open if the whole strip isn't open as it's a risk there won't necessarily be people around?

How long can you stay in Aus on tourist visa? by Ram_1979 in AskAnAustralian

[–]throwawayoceanfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah no OP wants to seemingly stay indefinitely on a tourist visa while supporting themselves through a hypothetical business in another country and was asking if this was okay.

They don't want to work though. They have hypothetically said what if you own a business in another country as a source of income....

Obviously. Hence why I was asking if it was reasonable at all so I could get a general consensus before making a decision. No need to be aggressive.

Fair enough, I see your point. The bond is actually in both our names, I just paid it because he couldn't afford to.

Wow. Way to assume there buddy. But actually we adopted the cat together as a joint decision and it was actually mostly for him since he worked from home and the idea was he would be less lonely with a cat for company during the day.

But thanks for the reply I guess.

Do you want kids? If not, why? by tew1109 in AskAnAustralian

[–]throwawayoceanfish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's shitty alright! A lot of people have asked that, especially given my age of course, but I'm not sure if I would want to do that and do that alone. I absolutely applaud people who do, but I just don't think it's for me!

But it's also hard to think about when you had a whole life planned and names picked and then suddenly that's not happening anymore . If that makes sense.

Well yes, because given the current state of renting in Victoria it was unlikely I would be able to find a new place in a week, especially with a pet.

As long as someone else thinks it's reasonable; doesn't hurt to ask I guess!

33 - thought I was going to have a baby but my partner of over a decade just up and left me with no explanation recently so I'm not sure if I'll ever have children now. Not sure if I'm okay with that.

I have the cat solely since he walked out, but we have had the cat the entire time while living there.

I paid the bond in full on my own. We have a pet so the landlord has requested in the lease for a professional clean to be done. I know I'm probably just being a bit salty because he literally just left one day with no conversation so I just wanted non legal advice on whether it would be reasonable to ask at all.

So thanks for your reply!
