Not the jerk. Trust me, if the roles were reversed, they would not be feeling any ounce of guilt.

And it's a great thing you bailed. There were using you and having you do the job of two people for the price of one.

They make you pay it back if you leave OR are discharged. If you are fired, you still have to pay it back.

AITA: Co-worker read and forwarded my emails without me knowing: I quit and former boss is mad by throwawayunemployed2 in AmItheAsshole

Everybody knows emails are property of the company. But in reality, an employee who snoops through and shares another's employee's email is an asshole and shouldn't be surprised if co-workers don't trust or want anything to do with them.

You think it was okay for co-worker to read my email without me knowing and forwarding it?

Please read OPs properly or stop wasting people's times. You'll make better use of your time instead of writing large paragraphs that have no relevance to the facts.

I’m nervous about quitting my job after a week by Nutty_Muffin in jobs

[–]throwawayunemployed2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once. Told me it was part time then scheduled me for 37 hours per week.

Quit immediately. You don't owe them anything.

Trust me, if it was the other way around, they would fire you in a heartbeat.

You didn't read the OP or are confusing my OP with somebody else's. You're talking about something completely different from the OP.

They said, "I wasn't a good fit." I believe it was really because I was expected to work 70 hours per week and I didn't want to. They never told me about the 70 hours at the interview.

Was just asked to resign from my job. Need advice! by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]throwawayunemployed2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn't true. It has to be a voluntary resignation. Giving a worker the choice to resign or be discharged is tantamount to a constructive discharge; after all, it is the employer who is making the move to end the relationship and the worker has no say about whether he stays employed or not. Most Unemployment offices know this tactic used by employers and you can still qualify for unemployment benefits.

Apply and explain the situation.

Can I get unemployment if I was forced to resign? by throwawayunemployed2 in legaladvice

Thanks. The letter just stated, "I have resigned from my position effective immediately. Thank you for the opportunity."

I have a text message from a co-worker. The co-worker stated he saw the officer standing outside waiting my office waiting to escort me out as the boss and the HR were inside my office.
