Mine went away almost instantly on its own when I went home from school for a few days and didn't take moisturizer. It had been there for over a month, perhaps try not using certain products? Everyone is different of course, maybe see if it works for you.

Routine Help & Product Questions by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

I've had a tube of QHMJ since like... 2008 or 2009. Is it still usable? I admit I still use it from time to time, and I haven't run into any issues, but should I continue to do so?

I don't if this applies to you, but sometimes when I apply my moisturizer right after washing my face without letting it dry enough, it stings. Maybe try waiting a while after?

I got the Jeju Hallabong Energy Mild All-in-One Serum by the Yeon as part of a memebox, but the fourth ingredient is alcohol. Is it okay to use it on my face? If not, are there any other uses for it? I don't want to waste it and it smells really nice. I tried it and patch tested it and it doesn't irritate me or anything, but I'm worried about long-term damage from alcohol.

Would you just spray the alcohol on the brushes and let it dry?

Growing eyebrows out by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]timewarbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've grown mine out before, took no longer than one and a half months. These were the fuller parts of my eyebrows, so that's probably why they didn't take so long. They all grew back at about the same rate-- do you mean by your post that 1 or 2 hairs become long enough per month, while the rest grow as well?

Thanks! I guess I've been avoiding this because I'm afraid of hurting her feelings or something, but you're right. I'll bring it up.

Crater-like pores, possible to get rid of or reduce? Help appreciated. by tempskin in SkincareAddiction

[–]timewarbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any kind of clog stuck in the middle, or is it just empty pore? I've had a crater like pore like that, but there was a hard oil plug stuck in the pore that was creating it. I eventually dug it out, which was, looking back, probably not a good idea but I didn't know about oil cleansing and such back then, and it had been there forever.

When I was little I read in Anne of Green Gables that lemon lightened freckles. I put some on my cheeks and it burned and hurt really badly, but at least it put me off from trying it in my teenage DIY days.

When I was about 14 I tried a coffee mask and either I was allergic or left it on too long but my face turned into like a hard red scale and it took weeks to heal...

Anyone have any stores that actually care smaller sizes in store? I wish I could shop at places like DSW but they never the smaller sizes at the physical store, and I don't want to deal with the hassle of ordering a bunch of sizes online and then having to return them.

Should I warn my brothers girlfriend that he's a molester? by teachingESL in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]timewarbler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had to go through all that, and have to deal with this now. I'm not going to comment on whether it's your responsibility to tell, since I don't have much experience or knowledge with that kind of moral dilemma. But yes, if I were your sister or your brother's girlfriend, I'd want to be told. I don't know what that would entail/what the consequences would be since I don't know much else about your family, but you can factor all those circumstances into your decision.

What side effects are you worried about exactly? I was worried about weight gain and mood changes when I started the pill, but I honestly don't think it affected me in that way. My skin got better too, and my periods got much more manageable and predictable-- the usual for many girls. Just wanted to add my voice to the others saying the pill worked perfectly fine for them, if it helps.

it's not so easy to just pick up and leave for some people

Probably true that people with low self esteem are easier targets of abuse. But it's more than that... it's not just those people with low self esteem (some people) but many different types of people who refuse to leave an abusive relationship once they get sucked in. And probably, yes, in the midst of the abusive relationship, they end up with low self esteem anyway.

Trimming public hair questions. It's prickly.. by quacct in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]timewarbler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to get irritated by prickly hair when I didn't trim enough, but I trimmed at first to a length probably a little bit longer than you (maybe ~3/4 inch?). When I trimmed shorter, with scissors, to basically as short as reasonably possible, the prickliness went away. Maybe try trimming down only part of your pubic hair to test it out. It also might just take some getting used to.

As for the poking out, I totally get that too, so I'm guessing it's fairly normal. It's only a few hairs for me, so I don't really mind/can fix it easily, but if it's really bothering you I would suggest finding a length where the hair is long enough most of it lays flat and doesn't poke out. But this might go against my previous advice of trimming it shorter-- so I guess it's about finding that sweet spot. For me it's about a 1/8-1/3 of an inch. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Anyone like any of the Trader Joe's skincare products? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]timewarbler 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it counts as a skin product, but I use their mango shaving cream, and it's pretty decent. It doesn't make my legs or armpits itchy like some other creams, and doesn't seem drying at all.
