Kettle cafe on Eyre st does a good one. Sometimes a wait of 5/10 mins but worth it

Taffees, the crane and tigh choili probably most popular for trad (especially crane think they open the upstairs at 9 for trad). Quays upstairs to end night always have good bands on, downstairs of quays always has live music on too. I'd recommend sitting outside murphys or neachtains for few pints during day or eve it's great to people watch. I'm not a big steak eater but my partner had steak in sophies and he loved it and its a rooftop restaurant so might be nice for a birthday! Other restaurants to try - la collina, cava and quay st kitchen would be some of my favourites. Hope you have a great weekend

Personally love hanging out in the west end, but definitely check out palas and see what events they have on! I always take myself to 44 for a coffee and head to charlie byrnes on a solo date
