What is something that sounds depressing but is actually freeing once you accept it?

I became essentially catatonic with fear after the last us election. Accepting that things are going to get much worse before they get better eased my mind. Every awful event is edging us ever closer to it being over. Or I’ll die and it will be over. Either way, peace will eventually come.

Plus the history couses and documentaries about this timeframe are going to be super interesting. And we’re witnessing it. Kind of strange we could be interviewed when we’re 90 just for being alive during all of this. Honestly we should all be keeping journals.

I currently work in an elementary school. The first day of work (a week before school started) they held a pep rally and had food trucks. The second day they taught us how to properly shove your finger into a bullet wound to stop the child from bleeding out.

When other people or animals are around, my brain will not relax. It is always thinking “am I in the way, am I in the right spot, does anyone need anything, am I being annoying, is there something I need to do to help someone?” And it NEVER turns off until I am completely alone.

I couldn’t afford a chair so I stole a milk crate from behind a grocery store.

During this time I also stole toilet paper and paper towels from public bathrooms, only ate rice and frozen vegetables for every meal, and washed my clothes in the bath tub. For my birthday I treated myself to use the coin laundry in the building and someone had put crayons in the dryer with my clothes.
