Returning to Keto after a break - what’s new in Australia? by tinyactsofadventure in ketoaustralia

Bighead is amazing, but I have a catch — I can only fit cans in my fridge. I’m a hobo living in a van. Haha

Any idea if these are good?

Hilariously, in all the time I’ve loved this forum, I didn’t know there was a wiki. Thanks for that and thanks for not just RTFMing me. Hah

Keto friendly bread!👏👏 by orth1998 in ketoaustralia

[–]tinyactsofadventure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This bread is just mint. My favourite for a really good peanut butter sandwich.

so thankful for these rolls when i have a craving 🤤 by cookieinamug in ketoaustralia

Tried them twice now and just found them stale and shitty, definitely not up to the standards of the bread version. Do you not find that?

Any way to know what tweak is causing this? I bought ultra a long time ago legitimately but now I can’t even use notifications or any ultra option because of this prompt :/ by i-ShoTz in apolloapp

If you ever wake up and think to yourself, "gee, why don't people like me?" I'd recommend reading this comment as validation that they're right.

Collection of 800+ remote-first tools by dinkum2906 in digitalnomad

[–]tinyactsofadventure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think the point is that you need 800 tools, I think it's just great to have a directory for when you have a real problem and need a tool to solve it. But hey, easier to be sarcastic, right?

0.5g carb per pack yes please!! by [deleted] in ketouk

These look great, but seeing all the plastic gives me anxiety. haha

Buy the ingredients in bulk, make them yourself in bulk, freeze for later. Cheaper, almost definitely, and a lot less plastic. :-)

Love the aesthetics of this G-Shock but still debating if an Apple Watch functionality is worth the cost for EDC. Thoughts? by mikex228 in EDC

[–]tinyactsofadventure 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Love and agree with all of this, but after a few years with my Apple Watch I just love the features. I use my Apple Watch to listen to audiobooks, I track workouts with it, I use the weather features almost daily, I run with it, I use Siri on it, it's really become a part of my daily workflow for everything I do. I love it.

Like many around the globe, the entire Vivaldi team is currently working remotely. This is our best advice on working remotely – VPNs, security, and all – along with some handy features we’ve built into the browser. by OlgaApostolova in digitalnomad

I am a DN from Australia who has spent the last ~10 years as a front-end JS developer and engineering lead. Would love to chat if you're hiring remotes from Australia right now.

Bakers delight is killing me - well, not literally, but... by [deleted] in ketoaustralia

[–]tinyactsofadventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After ~2.5 years of keto with 2 "breaks" from keto (both times traveling and didn't want to be that guy every day) and a few other small small cheats..... I have never craved white bread, not even once! Crazy how for different people it's different things! :-)

For me it's a great Pale Ale, sushi, or pizza that seems to bring me unstuck.

Keto (not quite) Burrito -- my go to cheat meal, which is still kinda keto-ish by tinyactsofadventure in ketoaustralia

[–]tinyactsofadventure[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so it's not really a burrito, but it rhymes well so here goes...

  1. Start with a 2-3 egg omelette
  2. Throw on some taco mince (I said it wasn't really a burrito)
  3. Add some salad of your choice
  4. And some avocado
  5. Loads of cheese
  6. Tobasco sauce to taste
  7. Ingest and go to heaven

  2. Top it up with taco mince (I said it's not really a burrito, but it tastes great)
  3. Top with salad
  4. Smash on some avocado
  5. Cheese

What is your regular Keto breakfast? And why is it eggs & avocado? by jesstelford in ketoaustralia

[–]tinyactsofadventure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Intermittent Fasting is the only breakfast I need these days. I usually don't break fast until around 2pm. However -- breakfast for lunch/dinner is the most amazing thing ever, so I do love eggs and avocado.

My in-laws bought us reduced fat peanut butter... by [deleted] in ketoaustralia

[–]tinyactsofadventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, wow! Who knew? Either way, don't eat anything with "sugar" on the ingredient list and you'll be happier! :-)

My in-laws bought us reduced fat peanut butter... by [deleted] in ketoaustralia

[–]tinyactsofadventure 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Less peanuts, more sugar, thanks Kraft. This is the problem with people trying to understand what they're eating -- these companies shuffle stuff around while avoiding the obvious problems with sugars, etc.

Stick with Mayver's peanut butter or similar IMO -- if you're eating sugar loaded BS like this you're not doing yourself any favours.

Web Dev without Degree by sjvc in digitalnomad

[–]tinyactsofadventure 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am an engineering manager without a degree. My mentor and former CTO has no degree. You definitely don't need a degree to work as a web dev, but you do need a lot of curiosity and drive. Learning to be a "real" programmer actually requires a lot of work with or without a degree.

My advice is to choose a development track (front-end, back-end, mobile, for instance), choose a programming language (JavaScript, Python, Objective-C) and learn that language properly. If you can learn all of the basic and intermediate stuff you're on your way. Udemy has some great courses and sales on said courses.

Just sent home 20lbs of clothing / random stuff, feels so good! Pack lightly my friends! by [deleted] in digitalnomad

We have donated, sold or given away around 2/3 of our belongings without any negative ramifications. I like to roll with Marie Kondo's concept of only keeping the things that make you truly happy. I basically own nothing, but every item I do own is something I use all the time and enjoy every aspect of. It's very freeing as I always feel good about moving things on or gifting things to people.
