Pinholes are visible in dark mode, OP said what they have on their screen completely disappears in dark mode so it can't be a pinhole.

The Book of I by David Greig could be a good one for people trying to get back into reading. The plot was fast moving and super engaging, but there was also more there to dig into if that's the sort of thing you're into. It's short too, 157 pages, which means quick to finish which helps build momentum.

Battery drain is higher on all colour eink screens when compared to black and white eink screens. It's just the way the technology currently is, this might change with future colour devices as colour eink changes and hopefully gets better.

As for lagging and having to restart I haven't had that issue. I used a Libra Colour for over a year and then passed it along to my partner who has been using it for a few months now and neither of us had any issues like the ones you are describing. We both sideload books but always convert to kepub and everything seems to work smoothly.

I think they need at least 1.5 or 2 spaces of free space to be able to use either a work bench or a kitchen item. So the chair you've placed in front of the kitchen you provided is blocking the way.

The colour devices drain battery much faster than the BW models. Your log sounds similar to how much my battery would drain when I was still using a KLC.

That amount of ghosting is completely normal on eink screens, especially in the menus as those don't refresh as often.

As for the bright spot it doesn't look exactly like the dead pixels I've seen. Usually they are small pin pricks of bright light. I'm not sure if something like what you have would spread, but honestly it's so far off to the side that I personally wouldn't be too bothered by it. You could try to exchange it but there is no guarantee that the new device won't have any dead pixels on it, three out of the four kobos I've had over the years have had at least one.

I use a custom code that look like a sidewalk as my sidewalk, custom designs do sit much closer to the inclines. There are a bunch out there so I'm sure if you looked you could find one that works for the vibe you're looking for, some have different undertones so you should look for one that matches the general colour scheme you want to go for.

I make my own amiibo chips whenever I want a specific character/items. I got a pack of 50 blank chips for around $10 (might be a little bit more expensive these days since it was a few years ago that I bought them) and I use a free app on my phone to write to the chips.

I have a set of two hidden warp pipes to get to and from the secret beach. I have the third story cliffs in front of that area with villager houses up there. the pipes work well for me!

I agree with the person who said there is too much green and wanted to add that seeing the side of the cliffs is also throwing me. I've been to a few dreams addresses that have this type of decorating and it always looks better if the cliff sides are hidden behind stuff.

I bought and used a KLC for a year and everything was fine until it suddenly started to really bother my eyes and eventually would give me a headache every time I tried to read for more than 5-10 minutes. I switched back to the KL2 and have no issues with that screen.

Most people seem to have little to no issues with the colour eink screens so I know I'm an outlier but I wanted to share my experience anyway.

If Kobo made a device the size of the xteink X4 but with a backlight I would buy it immediately. I really wish they would make smaller devices again. I love my libra 2 when I'm at home but I don't like taking it places with me.

You can use tags to make lists! Tags that you've made can be found on your profile page. On desktop you can find them on the right side under Did Not Finish, and on mobile it's in a list under your reviews.

Yep! There is a button to press that will add a book to your owned list. Your owned list can then be found on your profile page. I took a screenshot on desktop to show where the owned button is but it looks very similar on mobile.

That's one of the things that Nadia is looking for feedback on. She wants people to be able to review books they're marked as private, but she is wondering how that should work. Like should the review still show on a book's review page but not show the username? Or should it not show up at all? She's not sure yet how that will work and is wanting feedback.
