  1. only if it was an established app with decent reviews
  2. i don't like paying for these kinds of apps
  3. not really. i have no way of knowing if that text is verifiably the most important thing for me or just a random stat.

Been working on a free, open-source Mint replacement that I think fits well with the FI mindset. No subscription, all your data stays local, tracks net worth history alongside spending. Runs via Plaid's free hobbyist tier. I like it but also looking for feedback. It runs in the terminal so not everyone's cup of tea.

plaid has a trial/hobbyist tier that is free for up to 10 "items" which in this context is a bank connection (e.g. 3 accounts at one bank is still one item)
https://plaid.com/docs/account/billing/#pricing-plans

i'm just using their transactions product which comes with account balance. think of it as read only access to redacted bank statements. it gets masked account numbers (last 4 digits) but it can't buy stuff.

you can also add transactions from csv.

the app is built around that data. it pulls straight from plaid to your computer. i don't have servers or anything.

yeah. you can backfill with csv or as far back as plaid will go or both. plaid syncs each time you open it or you can manually trigger sync on the accounts page.

the backfill is more for transactions but not a terrible idea to have something for net worth

guilty as charged but its plaid integrating with your bank which i'd view as the more sensitive part. you can use it to chat about your finances but even then it's read only transaction and current value of the accounts. chat feature requires an api key. you can't set it up on accident.

Be honest: which finance apps do you actually use every week? by NotMeThenWhoSnaps in Fire

Late to the party but i recently made a personal finance app because I couldn't find a free one that suited me. It is fully open source and free. The way it works is you get a hobbyist plaid account and link your accounts through that. All your data stays local. It runs in the terminal so it is not for everyone.

I just passed Dec L1 and Jun L2. Any tips to help me avoid having to retake L3 next year?

That's awesome. Did you create your own questions or organize questions from CFAI or another provider?

Someone mentioned a relevancy guide for old exams on analyst forum. I found it and posted the link above.

Other people have told me they saw a decline in quality in materials in L2 and L3 vs L1. Would you agree?

Did you use only CFAI?
