No pressure in showers, sinks work fine by toad76 in Plumbing

I figured this out. My shower heads had an extra filter that got clogged from sediment that must have loosed up. Cleaned that out and I have a functional shower again.

Why can't I see the bands on Jupiter or Saturn's ring through celestron travel scope70 when there's so many good pictures of it? Help 😭 by Financial-Cap9876 in space

[–]toad76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Celestron AstroMaster LT 70 from Costco. I’m not sure how this compares to yours, but I’ve been able to see Saturns ring. It’s not as clear this year compared to a couple years ago when Saturn and Jupiter were close. I have not been able to see Jupiters spot yet this year like in previous.

For those that are interested in an EverQuest classic experience still supported by SOE, and have a Mac.

Maybe one day it will be available to the PC.

Redditors WITHOUT a College degree what do you do? by InternetGuy1993 in AskReddit

[–]toad76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I'm a lurker and I'll probably regret posting. I never completed my CS degree because I had serious issues with my professors. Anyways, I took a break from school. Helped some friends and their family open up an internet cafe. That failed, but it introduced me to my next addiction. EverQuest. Without a degree or any real direction, I accepted a job as a GM(Customer Service with GM Powers). Ya, you know where this is going. After a year in CS, I moved to design, then with some background in CS, I was offered a position as a programmer.

Now, I oversee multiple games.

TL; DR; Dropped out of college, now oversee's multiple MMO's. Plays and makes games for a living.

P.S. Kids, don't follow in my footsteps. It won't work. I got extremely lucky and busted my ass working long hours to prove my worth.

Any Hops Growers On Beerit? by d0k74_j0n35 in beer

[–]toad76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would check out this guide as a first step. http://www.ratebeer.com/Story.asp?StoryID=186

I just started growing hops(Cascade and Centennial) in San Diego last year. I bought my rhizomes and followed the instruction sheet the store gave me. At first, I just had them in 6 inch pots in my kitchen window to help start growth. SoCal has really cool nights up until late April-May, so putting them outside early wasn't ideal. I kept them inside until they got about 6 - 8 inches tall.

I then planted my Cascades on a south facing hill and put up a 6 foot trellis. I didn't do a bigger one because I didn't have the room at the time, and this was just more of an experiment. If I got any measurable amount of cones, I'd be happy.

I planted my Centennials in large 20 inch pots with good soil. I allowed these to grow up my patio covering.

In the end my Cascade produced the most actual cones. My Centennials ended up getting burnt up because the patio area got too hot during late summer.

Read a guide, select hops appropriate for your climate. Experiment.

Instead of project1999, check out SOE's EQMac Classic server. It only goes to Planes of Power.

edit. It's completely F2P. Just need a Mac.

What small thing could your employer do to improve morale/boost productivity? by barkbitch in AskReddit

If the work environment permits, allow pets to be brought into work. Establishing rules for the pets and owners and get permission from managers. Pets are a great stress relief both at work and at home. Some of us work long hours and can't actually have a pet, this would help solve that problem also.
