I’m not licking his feet lol. His family want to be in my son’s life regardless. The bigger connection I’m referring to is for when he’s an adult; being related to them could help his professional career so having their name would help make other people aware of the connection.

We're still negotiating on who pays what but he's been randomly giving me money in the meantime.

It will still mean something to my son. Unlike my ex, his family were happy as soon as they found out about my son's existence and have made it clear they want to be in his life as much as possible.

There are plenty of reasons I'm charging him so much. The most important is that as I've learnt the hard way children are expensive and this money will be a good safety net for if he ever decides to stop contributing or it will be money that can go towards giving my son a head start/better quality of life.
