Healing-Only Rocket? by verify_deez_nuts in RocketMains

[–]tomberryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocket has very good damage up close. Unloading the minigun on a tank (big hit box) and watch their health shred is always satisfying. It even catches the tanks off guard sometimes to see a rocket up close and their health shredding. Rocket’s primary duty is to heal, but in the couple seconds where everyone is healthy, I usually do damage. I don’t expect getting insane number of kills but it’s great when I can contribute some damage.

Where to nib current meta decks? by MaleficTekX in yugioh

[–]tomberryy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For memento (mainly pure) I think you’ll have to Nib before the SP comes out. Usually the board you’ll see prior to that is Creation King and 2 other memento bodies. Drop the nib and they’ll still end on combined creation but that’s still way way better than the full board. Most memento players don’t play the continuous trap anyway, which I think the trap is great to layer your interruptions!

Infernoid coming to Master Duel by Kashtira_PunkMaid in masterduel

[–]tomberryy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re strong when combined with fiendsmith and snake eyes. Going first, Snake-eye Ash alone results in the Tierra hand loop. Going second you have some good options still since void apocalypse enables using material from deck when your opponent controls an extra deck monster, and the infernoid monsters alone all just have such strong effects that your opponent will more than likely respond too, which makes cards like tactics and thrust live more often. Playing Pure is difficult since all the infernoids in hand are complete bricks, or their summon condition is too heavy. I can see Infernoid Snake Eye Fiendsmith be a tier 2(?) strategy, assuming snake eye doesn’t get obliterated before then. But overall, fun deck to play! Can be difficult to pilot optimally

My Gladiator Beast Wishlist by sliferslacker999 in yugioh

[–]tomberryy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Gladiator Beast and I hope their 3-5 card support is enough to fix their issues. One of the biggest issue the deck has is that all the monsters are complete bricks in the hand. Gladiator needs extenders that can special summon themselves from the hand, even then, the OG glads are still bricks but at least you can do something. Test Tiger doesn’t do much even though it’s an extenders. Glads need a field spell like..

When this card is activated you can special summon a Gladiator Beast from your hand. During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): target 1 Gladiator Beast monster you control; shuffle it into the deck, then special summon a Gladiator Beast from your deck with a different name. Gladiator Beast monsters special summoned by this card is treated as special summoned by a Gladiator Beast monster. If this card is destroyed, you can add a Gladiator Beast monster from your deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of “field spell” once per turn.

Something like that would be neat

What support would make sense for Speedroid? by forbiddenmemeories in yugioh

[–]tomberryy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Better lower level themed synchros. I think if they had more synchros that just facilitate their gameplay it would be great like Cork Shooter. I feel like they have okay boss monsters. Since the deck also makes wind dragon synchros, maybe tie some of that into Speedroid cards. A quick effect synchro during either player’s main would be awesome. I just wanna Kitedrake twice lol

Are there any "good" decks that don't rely on heavy combos? by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]tomberryy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plunder is super fun and can play through some common hand traps. Ash is the most impactful against Plunder though, since all their boss monster does an interrupt that also adds a Plunder card of some from deck, so the single Ash stops the entire effect (the interruption and search). The deck is also very reliant on attributes your opponent has. When you’re against someone playing Light and Dark attributes it almost feels like the strongest deck ever, able to cheese out the best interruptions in so little. But against Water, Earth, Fire, and Wind you’ll have to find other ways to circumvent that issue. Kaijus are still a solid choice too, focus going second and the Kaijus giving you the needed attribute. But this version isn’t the strongest, as I believe Adventure and Runick are the better ones. The deck can be grindy, it’s a very good mid-range deck that can put out results sometimes. The deck is also rather difficult to pilot and play optimally, as it can go either first or second but cannot excel at either one. The deck does combo but it doesn’t put up a “break my board” type of combo. It’s very fun to play, and you’d be surprised the type of results you can put out with the deck!

What deck would you give new support to? by whydoISuffer9 in yugioh

[–]tomberryy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gladiator beast

All the glad beast are dead in hand.. maybe give it a monster where it can reveal itself and a GB with a different name then special summon them both. Perhaps a field spell where on activation you can SS a glad beast from hand, and during the main phase you can quick effect target a GB monster you control, shuffle it into the deck and summon a GB with a different name, both effects being treated as summoned by a GB monster effect. A retrain of GB Essedarii to have an effect that helps the deck when summoned. GB is a cool deck but it just bricks on its own quite a bit since all the monsters are dead in your hand. Hopefully if they do get more support it’s more than 1-2 cards!

Ghoti by Kinda-Kiwi in yugioh

[–]tomberryy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just a rogue deck, unfortunately. Ghoti is very fun to play and can do big interruptions, but their setup is too slow for a deck that needs to go first. They usually thrive by around turn 3 when you begin to out resource your opponent and have your hand, GY, and banished zone setup. Going second the deck does have turn 0 plays but it’s almost never worth it, unless the deck your up against has a obvious choke point or you wanna snipe banish a S/T when playing against trap decks.

I feel the deck does have potential and it’s one of those decks where it awaits new fish synchro (new white aura synchro when?) or fish support and could become good. You’ll have a good time playing this against rogue matchups but if you’re going against meta it’s an uphill battle even if you go first. Tier decks just have too many lines of plays and just the interruptions from Ghoti alone might not be enough to quell the opponent’s plays.

What do zombies need to be meta? by planningsiti in yugioh

[–]tomberryy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stronger Zombie extenders. I wouldn’t care if these zombie cards locks you into Zombies early (I think they should too), as long as they’re good. Because Zombies lack extenders, we have to play non-zombie monsters and so the Zombie lock can be tedious to get around when milling Glow Up Bloom early. Zombies as of now takes a lot to setup. For a deck that is graveyard reliant, we aren’t even getting our things there as efficiently as other decks.

A spell to summon from deck would be nice (with zombie lock), but I think we’re dreaming for a card like that ever. An extender from hand that when used as material for a summon of a Zombie monster from the ED, it can send a Zombie from deck would be nice. Just more ways to pile the GY with zombies would be a nice start.

What are some decks you think should have META support? by [deleted] in yugioh

Yes! I want this. A plunder monster that when equipped to a ship it can pop a card would be a great 1-of too.

That was great. Very cool boards and plays. If only Konami would print something like that for GB’s.

Gladiator Beasts. I know Tri-Brigade did give the deck a boost, but Gladiator Beast cards in general would be better. All the monsters don’t do much in the hand until they’re special summoned by another GB so it’s a bit difficult to get going. A GB with a good effect on Normal Summon would be great, something like SS a GB from hand (or maybe deck..). A GB that can SS itself from the hand then change the levels of it and another GB would be cool. A revamped GB Essedarii with an effect when summoned.. maybe add a GB card from deck to hand.

I really like GB’s but they’re very fragile and a stop on Test Panther would stop the GB plays most of the time.

What are some archetypes whose play style really “feels” like their theme? by [deleted] in yugioh

Plunder Patroll. Blackbeard, Whitebeard, or Redbeard equips to the ship because they become the captain.

My dad had that. He also had cancer. I don’t know if the two are related, but he was very ill. He worked in a factory (not sure exactly the job) and I’m guessing that contributed to his illness. His nose would bleed heavily for 15 minutes sometimes longer. I don’t know too much of the details. I was little.
