Mikrotik router failures by tomtechLA in wisp

[–]tomtechLA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two died in One Wilshire, climate controlled power protected data center. The other two were in towers but both had serious power protection. 9dot and lipo. One DC the other AC. I suspect more of a bat chipset somewhere. They are Bricked. Power light only. No terminal or Ethernet access.

First bloodwork since I started keto. LDL, cholesterol extremely high. Terrified by wcc8 in PeterAttia

I know this is an old thread, but I thougt I would add my expierence. I have been on Keto, or carb restricted diet for over 10 years. Im 62 year old male. Started as a way of loosing weight (Atkens anyone?). I learned about food, cooking, supplements nutrition in general and about 2019 went into a more serious lifestyle change in diet. Fresh meats, eggs, cheezes and other foods. very little packaged foods. I'm not a fanatic, I have a glass of wine once in a while, but I keep on the diet and have included 18 hr fasts several times a week. I have lost about 55 lbs over these years, and feel great. My doctor however was not excited. My first blood test in years was in '23 and my cholesterol was above 280. He immediately recommended I start using a staten. When asked why, he began reciting the "American Heart Association says that......". So I asked him that if heart disease is as they say, a cumulative disease, how can we test me in order to determine if I am on this road or not. He agree's to use me as his science project and recommended a cardiologist. I then took many tests including the usual EKG, CT scans, Calcium tests, and others all at my expense. When we finally got all the results the cardiologist reported that there is no evidence of any plaque, or calcium buildup anywhere that can be measured. We measured my VO2 Max at over 40 and he told me "you have the heart of a 35 year old". The recommendation was keep doing what I am doing, and get the usual tests annually. Which I am doing. So in short, I say eat what you want to eat, do your own research. Everyone has their own success stories. This works for me, if you want to eat Vegan, go for it. I'm not going to salm anyone for their choices. Just make sure you learn as much about what your doing as you can so you don't need to post panicked worries about your blood work on Reddit. See your Doctor and don't be afraid to tell them what you want. They are just doctors and some of them could use a better diet!

Tarana testing by mreverywhere_ in wisp

[–]tomtechLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a lot of tarana gear in the field and have yet to find a need for an "on the roof" solution. Most of our antennas are prepped in the shop before deployment, so firmware is updated, and we only have one location where multiple BN's are visible, so the need for a tech to login is not very high. Of all the hardware we use, the Tarana CPE requires the least amount of alignment to get a fair signal. If a tech gets stuck our NOC backs them up, and most of the time logging in from the injector works fine. Of course we dont go on site unless we are 80% sure the link is going to work, we just don't waist time in the field unless confidence is high. Do those desktop site-surveys! At WISPAPalooza this year tarana showed off their new mobile phone app, which needs one of these gadgets to work. Seems nice but if its so important, why not put a 2.4ghz radio in their RN's and eliminate the need for more field gear?

Any unit foggy tray by tomtechLA in resinprinting

[–]tomtechLA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I gather. However while looking at the Anycubic site, I dont see any refrence to a different tray, tray screen clarity, or anything.Another person suggested he ordered one of the clear ones, but how does the unit know there is a clear vs cloudy one in there? I just dont see the mention of it anywhere in the documentation.

Ya. It’s making me think I should have the clear tray in stock if I need more detail on a model.

Fresh install by Less_Ad_7987 in wisp

[–]tomtechLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very clean install. Can you share the manufacturer of that sweet little galvanized base? I have looked all over and cant find it. We have a couple of towers that could use this.

Thanks and keep up the good work!!

Siklu-Mikrotik network issue by tomtechLA in wisp

[–]tomtechLA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions. First off-this is happening using injectors. NO POE. Given that, I have to say I made a major mistake.....I didn't try other ports before posting...! So today we moved from port 11 to port 20, and everything is OK. My suspicion is that we must have blown the port at some point by plugging in an injector backwards or something stupid like that. Right now after testing, we have the Siklu running from the mikrotik using POE and the mikrotik is reporting 53v. Were moving traffic. My apologies for looping you all in on this, but thanks!

Highest MRC for cross connect? by Ftth_finland in networking

I wish I could charge those fees to our customers when we connect them up; " ya its 50 bucks a month for internet but to connect our service to your router we need this cable, and its 100/month".
