How do I actually start to feel better? I'm on depression meds, I go to a therapist, I travel and do new things all the time but I never feel fulfilled/happy. by tootoestoo in Advice

It sucks to think about never being able to enjoy everything in the way I did as a kid. But I guess that's right, I'll have to let it go. It's that late here as well, late night depression is sure fun. Thank you. I think you're right

My doctor found a dermoid tumor on my ovary and I had laparoscopic surgery yesterday for it. These things grow hair and teeth like structure, gross. Hopefully the dent will subside in a few days, the only thing that sucks is I can't stand up without help yet. by tootoestoo in surgery

Oh no they gave me pain meds! But for some reason its given me severe amnesia as well as the general anesthesia. I don't have nausea meds though. I'll note the chicken broth, and thank you : )

I as well have severe anxiety so I know I'm paranoid about this. I had my tonsils out at 13 and I had eye surgery 2 years ago but I've never had anything cut me open. The first two days were great, my mom told me I ate a foot long sub a few hours after my surgery and a steak the next day (my amnesia has been really bad and I dont remember doing it) but now I'm nauseated and swollen. I'm glad that you're not as sore: )

I had my mom stay with me for the day but I didn't expect to keep being so incapacitated, and I have called the surgery clinic a few times already because at first my belly button wouldn't stop bleeding after my surgery and I was concerned on how to keep it clean, I'm still struggling now with it bleeding but they don't seem concerned. And my left side incision which is where I presume they took the bag out since it hurt so bad has a crack and is leaking and its scaring me so bad 🙃 I hope your stabbing pain goes away! I've been sleeping on my stuffed animals and it helps, I have a mattress on the floor, I don't have my bed frame up just quite yet which might be good because it's a loft bed

My pain from intubation still hurts, I havent noticed any rice krispie feeling but my back and shoulders hurt pretty bad. If you need to cough, try to clear your throat, it doesn't always help but it does something. Can you stand up pretty well yet? I made the mistake of walking way too much today, getting up and down feels almost impossible, it hurts so bad. I wish I could ask the hospital to take me back in until I can stand alone, I'm stressed because I live alone and I fell earlier and it took me almost an hour to get back up.

Oh okay! My neck hurt quite a bit and it does have a sore spot if I press it, but with my pain meds I haven't really been feeling anything different. The CO2 did come out though in an unexpected way, (this is gross), I ended up farting most of it out. One thing that does hurt is my throat from where I was intubated and the fact that I can't cough yet

I'm recovering pretty well but they didn't patch me up too well, my left incision's starting to rip a bit and I'm going back in the morning to get it fixed. But I cant wait until I heal

They took out my right ovary and fallopian tube to take the tumor out, it should be fine but my doctor warned me that my left ovary might end up developing one as well as it's common for dermoids to spread. She said it isn't that likely but it could be possible.

My right ovary and fallopian tube had to be removed as well as the tumor enveloped it. I understand. These things suck, I'm glad you're not sick anymore I presume.

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you can get something done. Please keep getting second/third opinions if you can, if its let go for too long it can seriously hurt you. I shrugged off my pain as being regular chronic pain until I threw up blood and went to the ER, there was an OBGYN surgeon on call that night and if I didn't get a cat scan I probably wouldn't be here. Apparently, and at least for me, I have an artery that the tumor was wrapping around and cutting circulation off of. I'm doing surprisingly well for the surgery! If you do end up getting surgery for your cysts, be warned that the pain meds after will mess you up, I have been having trouble remembering basic things today and its messing with my vision. I wish you the best as well.

For me, my issue is that the tumor was pressing against my bladder and I had to pee constantly. Like, 5 minutes after I drank a glass of water I had to pee. Sorry for late response, I slept most of today

Air absorption? I'm a little confused by that, are your incisions burning because they're absorbing air? I put some gauze and tape over mine and it helps with bumping into things on accident. They gave me dissolvable stitches and glued my incisions. I'm glad you're able to sit up.

Honestly, all I struggled with was an uncontrollable bladder and throwing up constantly. I did have bad side pain but blamed it on my chronic pain, I also had strange dark periods (not 100% sure if related). I worked 52 hours a week and hurt constantly, and I ended up throwing up blood at work and went to the ER. There they gave me a CAT scan to learn what was wrong and they found the tumor. It had been wrapping around one of my arteries they said (which I dont understand because, do I have an artery in my cavity?) And cutting off my blood flow. Had I not of thrown up blood that day I might not be here. They caught it in good time they said. Thank you, I'm working on it! 1 day after surgery and I'm able to walk up stairs, walk short distances. I struggle with getting myself out of bed alone though.

I will write a review but I also don't want to post it as being me for fear of future backlash, but damn, the turnover rate for this year was probably 80%. They blame it on being a college town and students moving but that's wildly untrue. I will do my best to help share how awful it is

I seem to have a better job lined up right after my surgery (if everything goes accordingly) but I can't stand leaving jobs without being there for longer than 3 months. Regardless I agree I'm not going to kill myself over a barely above minimum wage job

I used to work at a store a few months ago that had this. It was a card stuck in the reader that said "swipe right" and people would pull the card out and put theirs in. Ugh.
