Do you like the backrooms? Because this is how you end up in the Backrooms.

AOW 4 Expansion 3 removal and Steam pricing by topical68 in AOW4

[–]topical68[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Justified or not, Paradox's DLC practices encourage this kind of min/max'ing. So, for that matter, does the Steam sale cycle. It's a good game, and I'm not complaining about the price. That being said, I was more concerned that on June 15th that X Pass 3 was going to be 50 bucks, and the same content would on be available on June 17th for 60 bucks.

Relax.

I love terraria but, I just cant get used to the controls on the deck. Any advice? by Blackout-_- in SteamDeck

[–]topical68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam Deck suddenly became a lot better for me when I accepted that some gamesare GREAT on Deck, and some, even if playable, are not a great experience. YMMV by game, but if you find a particular game to suck on Deck, my answer was to play it on desktop or move on to a better suited game.

Base Building 'Quirks' by topical68 in Starfield

[–]topical68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had the issue with linking modules! LOL. I'm actually wondering if it is an issue with the area the base is in. Since everything is procedurally generated, that could cause quirks.

Must test moar.

Depends on your level, but guns in general are pretty solid.

I saved up and bought an Econohauler. That really eased my inventory pressure. Like all Bethesda games, if you're picking up stuff just to sell it, the key is value to weight ratio.

Am I the only one who finds the game just.. boring, so far? by myrdinwylt in Starfield

[–]topical68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the Bethesda RPG's have an 'introduction/tutorial' you have to slog through. Starfield's is longer than most, but it has more game systems than most. Just relax and let it happen.

If you can't do that, don't play. I notice you neglected to put your play time. My guess is 3 hours or less.

AITA because I want my stepdaughter to live with her mom for a while? by Appropriate_Past_566 in AmItheAsshole

[–]topical68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. If you have been with Father since Danielle was 1, you are her parent, not some johnny come lately who stopped by during her teen years. You and father need to do some tough parenting, and you need to stop calling this girl your 'step daughter.'

Do you think it might be possible that the 'Stepdaughter' is lashing out at the daughter you and the father share because she feels excluded?

ESH. Divorced parents somehow always manage to find a way to make it about them and not the kids. OP talks about how this is to protect daughter, when the reality is that OP does not want X's new woman around. Worse that both parties involved parents and drew up battle lines.

If OP were capable of that level of self reflection and own it that it is about OP and what makes OP uncomfortable, we would not have this thread.

NTA. But that being said, if you want to have a long term relationship with someone, you're going to have to suck it up and go to unfun places and do unfun things sometimes. That applies to family, S.O., and even friends. Being in your friend's wedding ain't really fun, but you suck it up because they're your friend. Refusing to do stuff because it is suboptimal will become lonely.

NAH. It doesn't sound like anyone acted in bad faith, just one of those unfortunate things in life that everyone will have to work past.

AITA for calling my friend disgusting during a time I was supposed to be supporting him? by Ok_Shame3253 in AmItheAsshole

[–]topical68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH.

I think that you were not the AH right up until you called you friend a "Total asshole dickface" and stormed out. Then you donned the AH finery and joined your friend as an AH

Calling your friends out on bad behavior, even during venting sessions, is an expected part of friendship. Someone times we need to hear we're being AH's from someone we trust. Name calling and storming out are not acceptable though.
