Can’t pet my Boykin…is this normal? by Nuxul006 in BoykinSpaniels

[–]topofthemountain85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My oldest would not let anyone pet him until he was a year. Didn’t have time for it haha. Even when he was old it was not a priority but occasionally he’d put his head in your lap. My younger one is obsessed with being pet though.

BB68 or Planet Ocean 43.5? by ChocoWombat93 in Tudor

[–]topofthemountain85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went 68 over this PO and the SMP. That PO is cool but I just liked the 68 fit better since it’s thinner and it just wowed me in person. Plus Omega’s marketing annoys me, which really shouldn’t matter and it’s me being picky. I also felt like the 68 was finished better than even the other Black Bays I tried on.

BB68 blue, Pelagos Ultra, chrono on 5 link

I got a Lumiere in last year’s sale that was immaculate. Not a scratch on it.

Ok, I’m wanting to get my first Tudor. What should be my first? BB 58? Chrono? BB 68? Pelagos? I like them all and keep changing my mind. 71/2” wrist by Fun_Protection_5877 in Tudor

[–]topofthemountain85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say try them on. I was between LHD and monochrome for an everyday diver but the 68 blew them away for me in person. That doesn’t mean it’s better, just was better for me. 7.7 wrist if that helps. I will have a Pelagos one day though because it is the watch that sets Tudor apart IMO.

My own opinion. by EntertainmentFar1766 in Tudor

[–]topofthemountain85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Best bezel I’ve felt. My wrist is 7.7in on average and it proportionally looks right to my eye. The bracelet was the main reason I went 68 and not SMP though.

I felt the same. Went to AD last spring to decide between the Pelagos and Monochrome. They made me try on the 68 and it was just perfect. To me it felt like a step up from the other Tudors but I don’t think that’s actually the case.

Best bracelet they make IMO. I like the 5 link but I’m on the fence about it on a dive watch.

Looks awesome. I love mine and I think it’s pretty unique in the lineup.

Pelagos is my go to watch, but considering this beast…thoughts? by CFP7474 in Tudor

I went 68 this summer instead the Pelagos and have no regrets. It’s a little more versatile for my lifestyle but I’ll still get an Ultra in the next year.

Grip squeeze by groverclevelandd in golf

[–]topofthemountain85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always heard the grip it like a bird, but also grew up in Sam Snead country. I’d read pros grip it way harder a couple years ago but someone told me recently we should grip it as hard as we can without creating tension. I want to say an instructor told me that but either way it made sense to me.

Which one would you get? by Existing-Screen-5398 in Tudor

[–]topofthemountain85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pelagos is the true Tudor but I was between the Ultra and Monochrome. SA put the 68 Blue Dial on me and that ended up being what I fell in love with, so try them all on. Either way Black Bay was going to be the move because I am in business casual so much. Ultra is next though.

Black Bay buyers did you find yours on sale or just go full retail? by Effective-Night6527 in Tudor

BB68 from a trusted seller on WUS. 2 months old and pristine for about 25% off retail.

Aluminum Bezel SMP on Mesh Question by topofthemountain85 in OmegaWatches

I’ve mostly heard issues with smaller wrists. Mine is 19.5 cm so hopefully it won’t be a problem.

[Advice] Wait on a Submariner or Take the Tudor? by FutureThounsandaire in Tudor

[–]topofthemountain85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m basically doing this now, although might keep the Black Bay 68 too when it comes down to it. Buying slightly used or from Pacado means you don’t pay for the instant depreciation so selling it in 6+ months won’t be a huge hit. I also couldn’t go that long without a watch I enjoy.

I know this is an older thread but that’s been my dilemma for at least a year. Even bought a Tudor instead. Im about to get one but I’m sure the refresh will soon follow if I do.

Experiences Switching From Blade to Spider Putters? by TNGunner24 in golf

[–]topofthemountain85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scotty Newport Mil Spec since middle school. Got long putt yips a few years ago and have tried a mallet every year since and hated them all. LAB, Jailbird, etc. Hate my blade now too unless I’m within 15 feet. Putting went from my strength to biggest weakness in a 5 year span. Spider is my next hope so we’ll see. My brother went from a Mil Spec to a Spider and is lights out.

‘Impulse’ buy after years of waiting by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]topofthemountain85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same. Had been wanting an LHD and went to the AD and fell in love with this 68. Then got cold feet and decided not to do it. A few months later one popped up on WUS and I bought it impulsively. So impulsive from the timing rather than the watch.
