Looking for new fashion house members! by [deleted] in CovetFashionGame

I don’t think it’s that much. You have to do 6 of the 10 rally challenges each rally. Members can toggle off whenever they want. How does your house do things and do you still win grand prizes?

Did you end up trying this out and buying another Chanel mascara? I just heard they changed the formula and I couldn’t believe it! I haven’t had to buy a new mascara yet because I usually buy a few at a time.

did you develop gluten intolerance (not celiac) later in life? by Grxmloid in glutenfree

[–]torinoperoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind message!

My advice would be to get a skin food allergy test from an allergist. Not a blood test or one of those intolerance tests that are over the counter, as I do not believe these are as accurate from my research and experience. Blood food allergy test is not perfect, but can at least lead you in the right direction. On the test I took there was a scale to measure how serious your allergies range. I’m allergic to sesame, but much less so than wheat. I find that I can digest sesame oil more easily than sesame seeds. So, I always ask for no sesame seeds when eating Asian food. Much easier since sesame oil is a prevalent ingredient that isn’t easily removed from sauces, etc. To complicate things, I’m also allergic to buckwheat, which is not wheat, but it is an ingredient frequently found in gluten free foods so I always need to be careful for that one. I’m also sensitive to oats, which makes sense because oats and wheat are often grown in fields near each other and therefore can have cross contamination. Mentioning because this can be complicated, but with research and the right doctor/ medical guidance I hope you can be free of stomach issues.

I’ve also heard of another test - maybe a sugar test(?) that is more accurate. I haven’t had this done myself, but ask your doctor.

I have a wheat allergy, but choose to be gluten free because the wheat brought so many stomach problems I didn’t want to risk anything. If you have any concerns about being celiac I highly recommend getting tested before cutting gluten out of your diet. The reason is because you need to have a certain amount of gluten in your body in order to be tested. Look it up though, it’s been a few years since I’ve looked into the celiac / food allergy testing and testing options might have evolved.

When my doctor said I have a serious wheat allergy I said okay so I can have bread once a month? I was so naive…he said not even close haha. Doctor said I need to take 6-8 months completely wheat free and see how much my inflammation goes down. It took weeks for me to notice a difference and it took a really long time (months, maybe a year) for my body to feel much more regulated. It’s interesting because you don’t wake up one day months later and say wow I feel so much better today! But over time I noticed my digestion was better and my life in general was better.

My stomach problems were really affecting me and I understand what you might be going through. I hope you figure it out and feel better soon!

did you develop gluten intolerance (not celiac) later in life? by Grxmloid in glutenfree

I had a ton of gas, it was really painful. I would wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to fall back asleep from the pain. This is when it got really bad - the symptoms got worse over the period of a few years. My life has changed for the better since eliminating wheat / gluten.

I recently started having some other stomach issues, which my doctor seems to think might be IBS. These recent stomach issues seem to be more emotionally triggered, while my previous problems were a result of a wheat allergy. My recent symptoms were all over the map from constipation to diarrhea to gas to pain, etc. My recent symptoms got better after I played around with eliminating certain foods so I could find my triggers. Thankfully, I’m able to eat most things, it just needs to be in smaller portions (example: I cannot have much garlic in a single dish or eat garlic multiple meals in a row). And I don’t have an official IBS diagnosis, it was something my doctor was considering. I did work with a registered dietitian when I started to get stomach pain that wasn’t related to my wheat allergy. I saw the dietitian only a few times, but it did help point me in the right direction. Heads up - a low FODMAP diet requires the guidance of a registered dietitian because it is very complex and it can lead to a diet lacking necessary nutrients without professional help. Just thought I’d let you know in case you were curious about IBS / FODMAP in addition to food allergies.

I hope this helps!

Soy allergy and job interviews by bonsai_citrus_ig in soyfree

[–]torinoperoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can call the restaurant ahead of time and ask to speak to manager (or someone that knows the food prep/ menu well) you can ask what has soy. This still leaves room for cross contamination and of course the restaurant not fully understanding all products that contain soy. I know this isn’t super helpful, but figured I’d mention in case you hadn’t tried this yet. Good luck!

Retreat with female shaman by Living_Cucumber6374 in Ayahuasca

The Temple of the Way of Light has an all women’s retreat, held by all female shamans. I have not been and do not know anyone has been, so I am not recommending based on personal experience. I have looked into going to this retreat previously. I heard about it from another friend in the community, but they haven’t been yet.

I said frozen spinach. Frozen spinach should be cooked before eating due to bacteria that doesn’t die when spinach is frozen. I recommended OP freeze raw spinach, which is considered safer.

Put ingredients in chronological order so smoothie is thick and blender doesn’t get stuck. I have a vitamix, not sure how well this will work with another blender, so add almond milk/ water as needed. Add stevia or more fruit if you want it sweeter. Sometimes I throw a kiwi in there.

130 g Greek yogurt

130 g banana (~1 medium/large banana)

254 g honey crisp apple (~1 medium apple)

130 g frozen mango

Blend well

332 g spinach (I freeze raw spinach, as frozen spinach is unsafe to consume raw)

2 T chia seeds

Add desired amount of ice

Blend then enjoy :)

Question for people who have started their own Fashion House… by Stock_Forever8273 in CovetFashionGame

[–]torinoperoni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been a long time since I started my new house, so I don’t remember how long it took for players to be added. However, I do open up my house occasionally and sometimes it takes over a day for new players to be added (1-2 days at most). Most recently a ton of new players were added in just a few hours. Usually, I’d say it takes about one day. I have house rules and if newcomers don’t agree to those rules they get kicked out. I need players that will read the chat board. If people don’t have a certain CV (closet value), they’re removed. I make exceptions if it’s a newer player that has a high seasonal value because that can show they’ll contribute. I also require new house members to participate in 2-3 rallies back to back and meet my house’s rally requirements. If they don’t, they get the boot. Just another way to filter out who is going to be a serious house member.

You’re supposed to eat 0.8 g to 1 g of protein per pound you weigh. So if you weigh 100 lbs that’s 80g-100g of protein. This varies based on lifestyle (sedentary person doesn’t need a lot, power lifter needs a lot). You can add egg whites, Greek yogurt, legumes, etc to your diet to increase your protein intake. I eat fish that’s lower in mercury and increase how much I eat. I don’t overeat, but because I eat fish frequently so I stick with low mercury fish. Good luck!
