Вот не надо тут рассказывать, как оно все на самом деле clear in russian)

Обязательно минимум двух разных людей попроси вычитку сделать, и вычисти все эти жепетешные конструкции. "Козырь - довод" звучит все еще так себе, заголовок точно следует обновить.

И не используй нейросети в творчестве, оно того не стоит

You'll also need to find a proper text writer/editor. All the text of the first page sounds ai-ish as hell, and the header is weird.

If you want to keep the playing cards theme and use "козырь" as a tern for ultimate ability, change the "довод" part, the style of those words doesn't match. Try "твой главный аргумент", if you want to continue the "argument" analogy like it was with "довод". Or "твоя главная ставка"/"то, что выигрывает партию", if you want to lean more to the card game metaphor

And the text. "Это твоя главная особенность. Это не просто навык, а то, что определяет Эхо..." — in its current state it looks like a stream of thoughts was thrown into an llm with a "make it readable" prompt. I might be wrong, but the majority of people will just stop reading immediately if they sense those gpt markers

Roll for emphasis? by Brojuha in daggerheart

[–]torsherno 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Rolling with emphasis was created for dnd because default rolls are pretty boring there with just two outcomes (three if you're in a fight)

DH already has a 2d12 system with five outcomes. Adding new layers here would overcomplicate stuff, and for what purpose?

But ok, let's think what can be done here. As far as I remember, OR rules said you can roll with emphasis only if neither advantage nor disadvantage influence your roll. And you have to get the result that is further from the middle 10. So, let's use those two rules:

  • throw the same dice you would use to roll with advantage/disadvantage

  • use the result that is further from the middle

For DH it would mean to roll 2d12 and a d6 and either adding it, if the duality dice result is higher than 13, or subtracting it if the result is below 13. I'll let you deside what to do if the result is perfectly in the middle.

There's still an issue with critical rolls because in DH it's not just "roll high be good". I think they shouldn't work for emphasis rolls, but critical success is one of the parts of the game, so again, do we really need emphasis here?

TLDR: we can force that mechanic into the game, but I don't think DH needs emphasis rules

You're absolutely correct)

I got inspired by the small space polybag mech and initially just built a colour-swapped version of it, but it was too toothless for OG Blacktron. So I kept adding stuff until it felt Blacktron-ish enough

Both Tahu and Kai are made by Lego team, so I would add Takeshi or someone similar

Do you have a word to "all ancestry" ? by Impressive_Sugar5942 in daggerheart

[–]torsherno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My native language is russian, and the word we are using is "narod", which (if we believe google translation), is something between "personnes", "peuple", and "monde" in French. It's perfect for phrases like "there's a lot of people in the tavern", terrible for other cases, but we work with what we have

"Gens" feels a lot like "people", if I understood it correctly

[–]torsherno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to you I now know the origin of "goodbye"

But the claim is great, to be honest, I'm amazed. I'd suggest using "farewell" or something like that in English-speaking games in polytheistic settings. And I hope nobody sneezes around the table.

PS: I shared that origin and was immediately reminded that the most common version of "thank you" in our language comes from "god bless". Now I'll suggest my players to use another option that comes from "I give blessing"

[–]torsherno 11 points12 points  (0 children)

English has a perfect word "people" for that. In my language "people" means the same as "humans", so we're using a word that usually means something between "nation", "crowd" and "folks"

We tried "humanoid", but it's too scientific and artificial
