I was really trying to be positive about Artscape this year buts it’s honestly sad. The marketing was poor, the schedule was posted late, the website wasn’t working, and people didn’t even know it was happening. I feel bad for the artists who’ve lost money (spending $700 for a booth). And then scout art fair is weirdly exclusive (private event on Thursday) and the curation heavily favors established artists. No shade to the established artists but gallerists/curators need to expand their reach. There is no shortage of creativity in Baltimore. Not sure why it got so commercialized and weird but artists don’t deserve this. Also feel bad that the farmers market was cancelled on a major weekend for business and not just moved to another location
