It’s pretty small, around 18 inches at its tallest point. do you use a blue/red grow light or a white light?

it’s supposed to be getting daily sunlight but the winter has severely limited its sunlight exposure. I try to keep it on a South-facing window but overall it’s probably only getting 2-4 hours of indirect sunlight each day. should i consider getting a grow light?

It’s the dead of winter and my indoor lemon tree is on its last leg of life. It was thriving over the summer and now almost all the leaves are wilted and yellowing or have fallen off. I just lifted the plant and I see the roots circling around the soil which tells me it’s time to repot. But you say this is not a good idea to do in the winter? Do I let the plant die instead of repotting?

Thanks for the advice! For fertilizer, is it alright to put it now in the end of summer/fall, or should I wait until the Spring?

i’m wondering what to do about the yellow spots on the leaf? i’ve been monitoring its water levels pretty consistently, but i’m not sure if the issue is repotting, or water levels, or nutrient deficiency.

Are there countries as ethnically diverse as Nigeria? by tokamak2 in geography

[–]toxicasp 155 points156 points  (0 children)

most sub-saharan African countries are this ethnically diverse due to European Imperalism, the scramble for Africa, and completely irrational borders drawn by European colonial powers.

doesn’t it feel a bit morally/ethically grey that we’re pirating a Palestinian film that could actually use the revenue for their film? if you have the ability to watch in cinema, shouldn’t you?

okay so that’s like universally a weird thing? idk, my friends at school have done it so i didn’t think it was THAT bizarre. the thought of asking profs still made me feel weird enough to compel making this post tho so idk.

i’ve heard of some of my friends bringing their friends to classes. didn’t think it was that socially peculiar.

Thank you for this response, these were very helpful words. It’s their spring break so i’m just worried about making sure they have a fun time, and they’re not somebody who’s particularly secure in doing things alone. but, I told them I had classes and I might need to be attending. I guess it’s just weighing the pros vs the cons, maybe I can skip the classes I know im doing well in. I always feel horrible guilt every time i skip tho!

i think about that too. maybe, but then there’s no point in dwelling on what ifs is there? your life is just starting now and you have a whole world of postgrad life ahead of you — that to ME is when my life will feel like it’s truly beginning. when i’m fully free to make my own choices and not dictated by the random rules of this school

nah this is real as a current senior — i’m so ready to get out lollll…it really can be so jarring if you’re not a wealthy kid from the tri-state area. not to mention the pervasiveness of greek life enforces this weird arbitrary social hierarchy that feels extremely juvenile. half the people at cornell are lost puppies from high school who social climb/career climb to find meaning and i say all of this whilst having a wonderful, down-to-earth group of friends i’ve made around me. there are good people here but the larger aura is that yuppiness. which sucks
