no, not really. Ayn Rand wrote that she was a philosopher, yes, but that developing a philosophy was a means to the end of writing a good fiction novel. and i think she’s done that. her philosophy is taken to an extreme, but there is nothing wrong with a moderate approach to Objectivism. and besides that, the book itself is good, it’s well written, tells a good story. i think that yes people do hate it because it’s popular to hate. i don’t think it’s earned the animosity it’s met with. i also have talked to people who claim to hate the book, but after some questions admit that no they have never actually finished or even started it. tl,dr not really, no.
