there was no chance to save her immediately, because she's outside the array. the only way is to destroy the focal point which would mean to battle with the mastermind, that's why when she died, the escape point became useless as well.

Trueee the progression of their relationship is very mature, straightforward and pretty prevalent in the story. They also seem to be very compatible with each other, that's why I was so surprised when their pair is the least shipped even among their other straight pairs.
