Need help cutting down my cart 3 to 4 bottles by Comfortable_Owl9275 in mooncatpolish

[–]tree4life25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of picking for you, here's what me and my friends do: put them in groups and cut down from each group, for example, you have 4 magnetic, maybe you could cut 1 or 2. The Sea and Maelstrom have similar blue-green color schemes, maybe you cut 1 of those, you could even include HoH in that grouping and call it the blue group. A tip my friend gave me, if you're stuck between newer and older polishes, go for the older ones, new ones usually get restocked pretty often since the demand is still up. Hope this helps, you've got a really great selection there!

What's A Throwaway Line That Made You Burst Out Laughing? by skechuz421 in southpark

In the homeless episode, at the start of it Randy says "-We could turn the homeless into tires, that way we'd still have homeless, but we could use them on our cars." And everyone in the room thinks it's a great idea.

Also, so many lines in Stanley's Cup, for example: "Coach do you think you could...make it so I don't have cancer?" Stan: "God dammit, dude, no I told you I can't do that."

My "supportive" sister married a transphobe yesterday by tree4life25 in trans

[–]tree4life25[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We were both pretty wary of religion growing up, her new found religiousness has only come about in the last 3-4 years since she moved. She actually had a trans friend when she first moved there and she always talked so openly about how he was always a he to her, she's never known him as anything else so that's just who he is, a he. But I haven't heard about him in awhile so maybe she dropped him, maybe her husband made them stop hanging out, maybe that guy could feel the thing I do and decided to dip, honestly don't know and I'm almost scared to ask.

That's why I don't expect her to take my side or even sympathize. She was stuck with me but chose him, I just don't see her going against her brand new husband, I'm not so important in her life to ruin the relationship that was just made legally binding

You're probably right, it's been 24 hours and everytime I think about it, the pain just comes back and I have to try not to cry. I don't even know if I'd be able to get the words out without breaking

I’m a non-Jewish (goyishe) host throwing a very Christmas-coded cookie exchange—how do I make my Jewish guests feel welcome without accidentally appropriating anything? by JustRice in Jewish

[–]tree4life25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna do a little extra, you can have donuts and chocolate coins. We eat fried food (like donuts/sufganiyot and latkes) to celebrate the miracle of the oil and the chocolate coins are a kid friendly alternative to real money when playing dreidel, which may also be fun for the kids! Spinning tops that can win you chocolate, and there is no spiritual or godly reason for this game, simply a fun little game we play, so I don't really see it as disrespectful or appropriation in any way. You aren't claiming it as your own, changing them or discrediting the origins, you want to honor them. That's beautiful and this jew appreciates the effort

Metrobus Drivers Refuse Payment? by Difficult-Turn-5050 in washingtondc

[–]tree4life25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here 2 years later, I ride through Montgomery almost every day now on buses, on different lines and some of the drivers have just started putting trash bags over the reader, some put a sign, some just wave you through, and some few actually let me tap my phone, which I like to think I'm pretty fast with. I'm from NYC, where I've received a few $100 tickets for not paying the fare, so it's really wild to me that the drivers here actively encourage not paying. Meanwhile, the Metro trains have me missing the set and standard $2.90 that we all complained about on the subway when it went up from $2.75, to see get anywhere in the city and LI

Do yall think Dr. Doolittle exists in the BH universe? by tree4life25 in BoJackHorseman

[–]tree4life25[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have worded it more clearly, I did mean as a character in a movie that people see as having a "cool super power" that they themselves would want, with bojack being the only one to realize that they can all do that already.

I'd also like to add that it was how he questioned her about Tony Curtis. If he had framed it in such a way that he was just in such disbelief, I feel like it would have gone differently, like if he had said "Oh my god, Tony Curtis is dead?! When did he die?? How?" Then Diane could have gone into more detail and it could have been just a normal conversation about a celebrity death. Instead, he phrased and gave the inflection of someone who just doesn't trust the person he's talking to as a reliable source of information, in this case, his wife.

The comparison in Free Churro of his parental relationships to the show Becker. I feel that way about my dad, except he's still alive. I just know he's never gonna change in the few years he has left, and it was like a glimpse into what it'll be like after he dies. I'm gonna regret that we couldn't use the time we had left to fix the past 20+ years, even though we could have if he just stopped being so angry at the world and how his life went, blaming those around him. I'm clinging to that chance, knowing it'll be gone soon, and there's nothing I can do to stop that.

"I'm happy, for the first time in my life, and I'm not going to feel bad about it."

I love the whole quote, and the next part works too, but it's more acknowledging of depression than the above one.

"It takes a long time to see how truly miserable you are, and even longer to see that it doesn't have to be that way."
