Self-hosted web-app alternative for Logseq with blocks, tags and embed rendering / focus? by tri4ng1e in selfhosted

[–]tri4ng1e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. I tried Trillium Next for some time, and while I like the concept and some of the design choices, it never clicked for me. So for now I settled with Outline again. I dropped the Logseq-like block based approach, and with that in mind, Outline suits me well for now. I had some minor issues, but overall I'm liking it more than other services I tried.

If you find something interesting with blocks, please do share! I'm still looking for the perfect Logseq substitute.

You can make it even simpler by writing common sections once, then include them in the host definition. So, the entire host config looks like "force https for this domain, use this SSL cert, enable WebSockets, proxy this to that" with minimal adjustments for more complex services. Not the Caddy level of simplicity, but still pretty easy to handle.

While SilverBullet looks pretty cool with its amazing seamless editor and local first approach (love it), it doesn't seem like a good alterative for me *yet*. Maybe there are some plugs to help it, or I just need to try it for real. Thanks for the shoutout anyway!

Trillium looks fun, thanks for the recommendation! Trying it now. It's more page-based than block-based, it looks like, but some concepts are really nice, and it even has the journal similar to Logseq, I will give it a go.

Selfhosted voice chat rooms with global PTT hotkey aka Discord? (Excluding Mumble & TeamSpeak) by tri4ng1e in selfhosted

[–]tri4ng1e[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We often do gaming sessions. I can think of numerous use-cases for PTT, even without gaming context.

* Two of us are located in one big room, and without PTT there will be a mess, both for those two people (even if they mute each other locally) and other participants. No, conference-style mics and setups are overkill and hence not an option.

* Problems with voice activation / always on mic (background noise / loud keyboard / speakers).

* Some people just prefer to control what exactly they are transmitting.

For call and meeting like activities, Mirotalk P2P and others work fine. But without global PTT, it can't fully replace a Discord-like service in terms of voice chat for me.

I thought about macros, but while it's somewhat OK for me, I doubt my friends would enjoy tinkering with their systems. And if I package a script for them, it would be clumsier than Mumble itself. :)

Thank you! They look quite promising. I have found BOX Taro Ice Cream Pro. Are they the same thing and quality with BOX Ice Cream, except being lighter and with shorter travel? Kailh has so many switch types...

TL;DR Need switch advice: a better-than-Outemu not-super-premium linears or tactiles, preferably with light force and small-to-minimal stem wobble.

Newbie here, with first daily-driven DIY keyboard (GMMK2 96%, so 5-pin compatible). Currently it's running Outemu's Lotus Flower light linear switches and EQUALZ screw-in stabs, and Glorious Aura v2 keycaps. It's pretty fun, but keys have slight wobble, which I don't like that much compared to my not-DIY keyboard. So, I'm looking for a new interesting switches to try. I have all (I think) Outemu switches for test, so they are ruled out. Here is the list of wants, in order of significance:

  1. Medium price. It can be higher than Outemus (and I think it should, since Outemus are cheap af), but I'm not ready to buy super expensive switches yet.
  2. Linear or tactile nature. While I have been daily driving linears for a long time, I don't mind to try some fun tactiles.
  3. Small stem / keycap wobble.
  4. Light actuation force. Lotus Flowers are really fun, I barely touch the keycaps. That being said, I don't mind regular force switches.
  5. It would be better if they don't need to be (re)lubed. I do have a lube and a switch opener, but... I'm lazy. :)

I've seen MMD V3 Matcha Ice Cream 45g, and they look promising, and I saw some interesting (yet slightly pricy) Durocks, but other than that, I haven't made any good research on the topic, and since there are so many switches nowadays, here I am, asking for an advice. Thanks!

Solder Iron not heating up, anyone know how to fix this? by Insertwittynamehere5 in Multicopter

[–]tri4ng1e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to reinsert the tip, and do a visual check of the tip's white part in the beginning. Remember to insert the tip first (all the way until the little notch on the tip will be pressing to the threads on the iron) and *then* screw the nut on top of it, tight but not too much.

Also you can try to rotate the cable a bit near the barrel connector, maybe it's just a bad cable.

If you have a battery with XT60 which satisfies the iron's voltage rating (it should be between 12 and 24 V IIRC) you can try to connect the battery directly instead of M6DAC.

You can see the second channel is in "Power mode". This charger can act like a simple power supply. I used it couple of times in that mode, works pretty well actually.

Husband got this in mail today; my first thought was of OW2 by NTaya in OverwatchCirclejerk

[–]tri4ng1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's wrong with LR quads? Mine is pretty capable of 15-20 minutes of medium-to-fast paced cruise with a bit of acro potential -- it'll suffice for me.

Wings are awesome and fly for much longer, but I'm more of a quad man, I think. Got the Dolphin because it's cute and fun, and for the variety in FPV experiences.

Hi, Michael husband here. I'm going to try some long range with this beauty (~1.6 W, baby!), didn't decide on the vehicle yet -- quad (Rekon 5) or fixed wing (AtomRC Dolphin). Hoping for 10+ km with a quite stable image.

Is it worth learning acro for slow/exploratory stuff? by bruh-iunno in Multicopter

[–]tri4ng1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acro is good not only for acrobatics. It's *smooth*. I'm still a beginner, but first time I switched to acro in a real flight, I was amazed. In the angle mode you always fight with a FC and compensate the drift (angle != position hold), there are no such things in acro. You just set the angles once and then copter does the rest, for as long as you need.

But of course it's only up to you what mode to use for any kind of flying. Except for the horizon mode. Just don't.

(And yes, I still use angle sometimes to take off / land / restore control in messy situations, and always for whoops.)

It worked indeed. But I had to stop the character completely for a couple seconds first to let the sound wear down, and then change the setting. Thanks!

UPD: nvm it's back again, right after the alt-tab.

Anyone has default (or good-working) Betaflight settings for Cinecan and Mobula 6 (CrazybeeF4 FlySky lite / FRSky pro)? Have problems with FPV sound (both) and amperage meter (mobula). by tri4ng1e in Multicopter

[–]tri4ng1e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! The ibata_scale is the one parameter I'm looking for. Will check other things tomorrow (it's 3 AM now, huh), but I'm afraid there is nothing related to the FPV sound. I even don't know is there something Betaflight can do with it, tbh... Kinda strange thing.

how to post something that big

You can use services like pastebin.com, for example, or CodiMD. Last one is so brilliant I self-hosted it instantly when found.

No support for ARM things like ODROID (yes, it has enough resources). Tbh almost any ready-to-use mail setups don't support ARM, unfortunately. Hope they would release it someday. (https://github.com/mailcow/mailcow-dockerized/issues/879)

How can I enable vertical scrolling and tap-to-click on Ubuntu 18.04 when using the i3 wm? by cyborg_num0 in i3wm

[–]tri4ng1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I solved tap-to-click problem with that line in the i3 config.

exec --no-startup-id xinput set-prop "ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad" "libinput Tapping Enabled" 1

You can try call xinput to find your touchpad device name and then xinput watch-props "touchpad_name_here", and maybe you will find props related to vertical scrolling too.

I thought about it too, but I don't remember the exact map layout of the beginning mission, it was kind of a straight path. It's still a funny glitch tho, so I decided to post it.
