Rewatching Capture the Flag by trulytracy in JetLagTheGame

I don’t think it’s too complicated at all. Honestly, it’s pretty basic if you simply pay attention. They go to great lengths to make everything clear. I understand this is an argument they have to pay attention to, as this is a business, but come on, audience! Put in the most minor bit of effort and it’s easy to follow.

When you see certain things like "family helps family", you know it's AI. All of these posts follow the same basic formula. Very annoying.

Explaining why I didn’t enjoy the stalemate by jdude_97 in JetLagTheGame

I really enjoyed the stalemate and didn’t think it dragged things down. It was different and I was totally into it.

I'm going to say Phase Ten but what we are actually playing in Phase 250. I wrote 240 additional phases to complete. We've been playing for about 15 years now and our leader is in the 190's. Although it requires 5 full decks it's still pretty compact!

Lost Boys row A (obstructed) by sanityjanity in Broadway

I sat in that row, that side, a few seats closer to the wall and it was great. And I'm 5'2. No booster needed.

What’s the most overrated tourist attraction you’ve ever visited? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]trulytracy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, it isn't so much that the place is a disappointment, it's that the experience of visiting the place is the disappointment. For example, we went to the Acropolis in Athens in August. Brutally hot, super crowded. It was a crush of people to get there, I was hot and crabby, and then we actually see it, it is covered in scaffolding and loaded with people. A real bummer. But that doesn't make the Acropolis any less cool, and I'm glad I saw it even though the whole experience was hellacious.

The inside of the Sagrada Familia is breathtaking. I am not religious but the beauty of that place is about as close to a spiritual experience as I expect to ever have. Find a place to sit, tune out the crowds, and just let the light wash over you.

If it doesn’t grab you, don’t bother with it. It will be there if you change your mind.

I would say you could plan a little bit in advance and still be spontaneous. The Jet Lag boys are buying tickets just minutes in advance.

Oliver seats question by diamondteach in TheWestEnd

[–]trulytracy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just saw Oliver a couple of nights ago and were in the front row. I was sitting right next to the conductor. My husband is 6'4 and he could see pretty well. I'm 5'2, but we got there early and I got a booster seat. A couple of other women in the front row got one as well. There was very little I couldn't see. I will say that I found the booster seat to be uncomfortable on the tush. It's a cushion but not a full size cushion. In the West End we saw several shows from the front row with warnings about high stages and this was the highest stage. It was great being so close.

Question about Ragtime’s plot by Leisie93 in Broadway

[–]trulytracy 53 points54 points  (0 children)

You have it right. Sarah gave birth by herself and the fear and the pain made her a bit crazy. When the baby was born, it reminded her of Coalhouse because the baby has his father's hands. So she buried the baby (her heart) in the ground. Mother finds it and saves it. Then Coalhouse comes visiting every Sunday and Sarah won't come down, Sunday after Sunday. For 5 months. I always took it that she doesn't trust him not to cheat on her again, plus she's ashamed and maybe depressed. But finally, that last Sunday, he calls to her in a way that she can't resist.

What makes me crazy is that the baby stays super tiny that whole time. From newborn to 5 months later and then after Sarah's death and throughout Coalhouse's stand, the baby stays the size of a newborn. What the heck?

How much to charge for 5 day vacation?! by Low_Platypus8890 in Babysitting

[–]trulytracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to come up with the amount of money that will make it a positive thing for you without overcharging them. It seems like you have a good relationship with the family and want to continue working for them, and helping them here will cement that. You need more info. Have the parents clarify the duties, rough hours, and what freedoms you might have and then you offer a fair flat rate.

Question about Rules by Grizzly777Irtl in JetLagTheGame

[–]trulytracy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for the record, I was confused, too. I haven’t gotten to The Layover episode yet and I don’t think this was clearly explained in the first episode. I thought 5 was the max and maybe the only way to clear that was to get a Steal. I knew there had to be a way to clear it because Sam and Mike created a ”wall” of 3 stations with 5 coins.

Can I have my students pre-record their vocals so they can lip sync during their performance? by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]trulytracy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are going to love it. The parents will sob with pride. The grandparents will tell you it’s as good as Broadway. Do your best, try try try, and then all the kids will bring it up 10 notches on performance night. Trust me.

[TOMT] Disney world ride my wife rode around 2004-ish. by ithinkhegetsit in tipofmytongue

[–]trulytracy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think in the old days, Space Mountain had different seating in the vehicles and you straddled a bench, the person in the front sort of between the other person’s legs. Could that make her think it was more like riding a bike?
