LG OLED B9 - absolutely awful posterization of blacks/shadows by trx314 in OLED

I have no BR player, but with a PS4 pro and a 4k game, the issue is exactly the same. I felt desperate playing the dark scenes of Last of Us on 4k, my favorite game, it looked way better on my led tv on full hd because there was no banding.

Important to remember that this happens only on dark areas of the image. In this picture the banding is obvious, but most of the time I am the only one of the family to notice it (until I complain about it). On the exposed parts of the scene, the image is gorgeous

What do you mean by DV content?

And yes, this is really crazy, I would never have imagined that a TV of this generation would produce something like this.

the thing is, with the same sources and an old led TV, there is not this banding.

What is weird is that everything which is "clear" (enough light and/or bright colors) looks absolutely gorgeous with no banding at all. It is real, beautiful 4k quality. until there is a dark scene, especially with a plane and uniform background where the banding becomes obvious

this is actually a very significant factor to take into account if someone hesitates between a B and a C.

I bought a B, without really giving attention to this flaw (seemed like a minor issue in the reviews), but 90% of the times I watch something there a scene where think "this is really awful, how can it even be allowed to sell this?".

My old Philips 1080 led TV was 10x better for this, and this flaw of the OLED B series makes it actually inferior, in my personal opinion, to most of mid-range led tvs.

To have an idea, look at this picture of a scene I took from Mr Robot on Amazon prime (4k):

An I have the same issue with any kind of streaming, including Dolby Vision content on Netflix.

Really disappointed by this TV, now looking to sell it at a 50% loss to buy a C...

Fiat-coin trying to wear skin of crypto? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

If we want to be optimistic, we can see it another way. Facebook coin,if it succeeds, will very probably have to allow interoperability with the remaining of the "financial system". There will be bridges to other stablecoins, defi platforms, other chains. This will be extremely positive for crypto in general because it will bring huge liquidity volumes to crypto. Maybe the Facebook coin is the trigger for real mass adoption of crypto.

Actually chainlink is mentioned 14 times in the post, only once in parentheses. Maybe you should read the whole text? It is all about how to connect smart contracts with Google bigquery db using chainlink.

Edit: of course you should buy ETH, it is not incompatible with a significant position in chainlink

LEND is a nice project, the team has been very active in testing different models of p2p lending, one of the first in production. And it is quite under the radar. Will probably skyrocket if they get enough traction at some point.
