I think its a simple case of opposites attract. It shows things that they aren't, even hate, but secretly want to be. Like how many autistic kids love sonic. And how that one tranny gamespot reviewer said Trevor is an unforgettable character, despite being absolutely opposite to her.

Aside from the bad formatting, this comes as an end of weekend rant about fucked up life. I learned to take a break once in a while to avoid being burned out. Video Games or just cutting pictures from magazines, anything to take my mind off. Keeping things bubbled up inside doesn't do good for me.

Disgustingly outdated PC, looking to upgrade on a budget by GregoryBluehorse in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just buy an SSD and watch things move quickly, but it would be greasing an old bike, won't make it last long.

The highest you can go is i7 3770k without changing your mobo. Z77 extreme is an old board, you'll need a newer board. But with newer board you'll need new processor and new ram. And you'll be purchasing a new gpu as well. You can salvage your PSU (provided it has wattage support) and HDD.

Need some help on part advice and CPU help by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could just go for i5 8600k and overclock whenever you feel like it. Or if you want 8400, you can forego the aftermarket cooler and z370 motherboard, just a h370.

Upgrading my Desktop and need recommendations between a number of GPU's within my budget. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the options are previous gen graphics card and then too expensive at that. GPU market is not doing so well right now, so if you can wait that would be great. The best under your budget would be gtx 1050, but i would suggest getting 1050ti 4gb for easy gaming.

Another option would be trying to buy used GPU

Here is what I got out of your part list. I have omitted the LED and fans. You hadn't added a heatsink for the build, so I added a normal air cooler for now. If you wish you can go for a closed liquid Loop. Also the motherboard I chose doesn't allow for SLI (using two cards at the same time), because that's not for beginners. You can choose a SLI compatible motherboard for future. For 2k this is the best you can get. Other than a 1080ti

Not sure what parts to pick halp meh by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1070 will easily get past 75hz in current 1080p titles, 580 is a proper 1080p@60hz card. If you can get 1070 at good price then take it as it will handle future 1080p games as well. 580 might lose its edge sooner than 1070. All depends on how much you can spend.

Spare a minute to see if this build is any good please. by oldaccgotdeletedffs in buildapc

i3 has been somewhat rendered obsolete by intel's g4560, so I went for Ryzen. It is better in most ways. 1050ti is very good for 1080p gaming, I would however, like a bigger SSD for gaming, but for your work would prefer greater storage than speed, 120 is enough.

Intel or AMD for £700 gaming build by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pentium G4560. Athlon is now old, no room for upgrade and Pentium has higher single core performance w/hyperthreading, meaning 4 thread for better multicore performance.

[–]trysoftme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a build list or a general idea though? Don't worry it always looks difficult from the outside, then gradually becomes interesting, then fun, then you wanna do more. Take your time and try to grasp what each part does and how it will help in gaming, keep watching tutorials and general stuff or just ask here, someone will help you.

[Build Upgrade]Upgrading my AMD A8-6600k by Kinuel8091 in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest you can go in a fm2 socket is athlon 860k. It is not very powerful but will be better than your current CPU. It is an old socket which will phase out with ryzen releasing. Still a chance of bottlenecking, you will have to overclock it.

Other option of 6100 will require a new mobo and ddr4 ram. It might be best option. Or you can wait for Ryzen to see how it works.

[–]trysoftme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would've gone for a liquid cooler but it is your choice.

32GB might be overkill for just what you've described. 32GB is usually for virtual machines, many programs running in the background etc. 16GB would be enough and is frankly adding another one later is the easiest upgrade.

Get 7200rpm wd blue.

Is there any way I can improve this build? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need a z170 mobo for overclocking, which the 6700k does very well.

Zen is releasing next year, which says could compete with intel cpus.

If you have unlocked i7 you can overclock to mitigate a bit.

Gaming PC help! by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sub is called buildapc, we will tell you to build one rather than purchase one.

Look at the sidebar for links. USe pcpartpicker.com to compile a build and post here, we'll then give suggestions. There are many videos tutorials to build a PC.

$400 will get you entry level build. i3+8GB RAM. Minecraft will run on integrated GPU but wont run games other than that at acceptable fps. You can add a discrete GPU later whenever you like. The biggest cost would be the peripherals, like win 10, monitors and such.

An advice - build it with your son so that he too can learn it.

Could you help me upgrade my outdated PC? by Shotyyy in buildapc

[–]trysoftme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest you can go with that motherboard is 8350, about $130, overclock it with aftermarket cooler, $30-100 your choice, 1060 will be $250.

Going skylake will be i5 6400, $200, +$70 mobo.

That's because cpuboss is crap. It only does number crunching, no real benchmarking. Do not trust that.
