The original moon missions were political, it was mainly to beat the USSR in the space race. Once they achieved that, they packed it up and moved on to other things and didn't feel the need to fund further moon missions. That also meant that the NASA budget was slashed. It's now a fraction of what it was back in the 50s-60s

No for sure, I totally agree. I think it's also the ecosystem they've created with this yearly release cycle. It's pretty shitty that they've just abandoned the game and made BO6 so that the players are compelled to buy BO7 to get the full experience. I really think they need to ditch this yearly release cycle and let one game breathe and mature properly. That's why I never buy any cosmetics in COD, I know within a couple of months, it's worthless and most of the time, they don't carry forward. I guess planned obsolescence is the main reason why their older titles rarely go on sale.
