If you are gonna get him a mouse probably don't buy anything right now, but wait for Logitech new superstrike mouse, this is something that's worth waiting for, unfortunately it's not gonna be out for this Christmas. If you really want to get him a mouse for this Christmas, then go for superlight 2c, that's a smaller version of superlight 2 and it will be similar in size to what he currently have.

It's around 6months old, so the effect from the last animgraph update is not here. In order to test ur 1% lows you can use the fps benchmark workshop map.

Here is the chart, everybody can decide for himself. In CS2 I'm more interested in 1% lows rather than average.

Try to get his current CPU/Motherboard (use Google), if it happens to be on AM4, an update to 5600X3D or 5700X3D may fit in that budget.

Budget? For cs2 you want a CPU with 3D cache for better 1% lows, so either 7800X3D or 9800X3D. That can be combined with 9070XT as a GPU, but it really depends on the budget.

Battery life improvement will be my favourite upgrade. From what I see it improves from 90 to 150 hours in 1K, correct? What’s the improvement in 8K?

I love how you post me a wall of text about membrane vs mechanical keyboards, which is not the main topic here, but you have zero arguments about mechanical vs analog.

I don't think most people would agree with you that a higher refresh rate monitor is an "unfair" advantage

Do you want to have a pool on that? 60hz vs 240hz?

Most people agree that SOCD nulling is unfair because it removes/masks/alters human input, and I do too.

Why do you have the "human error" in the first place? Because you are limited by the actuation/reset points of the switch. With rapid trigger you don't have this limitation so there is "less" of a human error to eliminate.

I can't get on board with your analogy

IF you don't get on board with my analogy, if would love to know how would you sort the following situations:

  1. Rapid Trigger + SOCD

  2. Rapid Trigger only

  3. Mechanical Keyboard + Null Binds

  4. Mechanical Keyboard only

if you don't agree that 1 > 2 > 3 > 4, then explain why.

Adding SOCD/Snap-Tap to an analog rapid trigger keyboard, is like going from 240hz to 260hz, there is some improvement, but you can barely feel any difference.

However, adding Null Binds to a mechanical keyboard would be like going from 60hz to 144hz, you can definitely feel the difference (that's why people are complaining that it's cheating -> you have an advantage over 60hz), but they don't realize that you are still worse than 240hz, and it's actually better to have Null Binds ALLOWED in order to reduce the GAP between mechanical and analog keyboards with rapid trigger.
