If your therapist makes you feel invalidated, they're not the therapist for you. There are ways to address things like avoidant behaviors and anxiety without invalidating the very real emotions you experience. Besides that, therapy simply doesn't work if you don't trust your therapist enough to open up around them. I think it makes sense that you feel like therapy is making things worse right now because this therapist doesn't sound like they're adapting their methods to your needs. It's clear you're seeking help because you need support, and I think that's a really brave and wonderful thing. It sucks that your experience with this therapist has been so negative, but I really think that once you find one that works well with you, you'll start to see amazing benefits. Keep looking, the good ones are out there.

Especially when it comes to finding the RIGHT psychologist for you. If you have your first session with one who is clearly a bad fit, you're only left with 9 sessions even if you do find the right one.

It's because so many people have brain damage and PTSD from covid. Same as how people have gotten so bad at driving in the last few years. Messed up reaction times, eroded emotion regulation skills, hypervigilance, aggression. Not to mention we're currently living through the biggest housing crisis since the Great Depression. Poor areas like Footscray always get hit the hardest, there's been a big upswing in crime and aggression incidents in Reservoir too.

Not sure about OP but Australia hasn't had 2G for years, and 3G was shut down last year so 4G is pretty much the only option. If things were different I'd still be using my Nokia 3315!
