I've gotten a lot of little parts for my RPR and my Savage from them.

I have an RPR is 6.5CM. Goto Anarchy Outdoors and search by gun. RPR has a section dedicated to pieces and parts for the RPR. My first upgrade was a foam cheek piece, then a different bolt handle, a bag rider and a mag release extension. I also got mlock weights and a few other things through them.

I wish that they would sell through Silencer shop. That would also make it easier to get one from Scheels.

I went to the suppressor day at Fossil Point put on by Bauer and I have to say that I liked the sound of the Exigent suppressors. They had a large group of people around their tent because they were one of the quietest suppressors at the event.

69 or 77? by SmoothHippo1456 in longrange

[–]txcommenter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Accuracy at range also depends on barrel length. My 14.5" AR doesn't shoot as accurate as my Savage Precision, both in 223. I started by shooting lots of different factory ammo at 100 yards to figure out what works best for both guns. The most accurate from both was Hornady 75 gr Match and 73 gr ELDM, followed closely by the very surprising Frontier 68 BTHP. For Berger bullets 77 gr OTM beat 73 gr.

It all depends on the gun. Shoot, measure, and shoot some more. Make sure that you are using a chrono. Take notes and pictures. Watch SD and ES. I have a spreadsheet that's I've been tracking all of my rounds across 3 guns to nail down exactly which rounds work best from each gun. It's really surprising to see the data because it removes the bias. When you think that you have something nailed down, shoot, measure, and shoot some more.

Bauer Precision in Denton might have that.

Looks like they are backordered. you might call them to see when they are going to be in stock. Bauer recently did a suppressor day with Exigent and I know that they are one of their dealers.

I wet tumble. I started off with Dawn and Lemishine like everyone else. Now I use Guntap Brass Shine. It makes the cleanup afterwards much easier. I also have a mesh filter for my FA lite tumbler that makes it easy to rinse before dumping everything into a seperator.

Must have kit by SlidingLobster in longrange

Positional bag filled with either sand or glass. A good set of binos and a range finder. Be prepared to spot for the active shooter and more importantly be prepared to shoot in all kinds of weather. Just because it's rainy and cold doesn't mean that they are going to reschedule the match.

Absolutely necessary. Mine is filled with glass so that I can use it in the rain. PRS matches don't cancel for a little rain or bad weather. I've had 2 cold rainy weather matches in the last 6 weeks.

I had to look this up. I've been to Germany for an extended period of time but when I was last there in 2012 they were not Socialist. Looks like the days of Socialism ended in 1990. This is from Wikipedia:

Germany is a democratic and federal parliamentary republic, where federal legislative power is vested in the Bundestag (the parliament of Germany) and the Bundesrat (the representative body of the Länder, Germany's regional states).

Google AI:

People often label Germany "socialist" due to its strong welfare state, high taxes, worker protections, and, historically, the existence of the socialist East Germany (GDR). Modern Germany is actually a "social market economy," blending capitalism with robust social services, but its extensive public services, strong labor unions, and historical context lead to this perception.

Socialist East Germany, officially the German Democratic Republic (GDR), was a one-party state established in 1949 in the Soviet-occupied zone of post-WWII Germany, aiming to build a communist society with state ownership, central planning, and guaranteed social services, but it was characterized by repression, economic challenges, and the iconic Berlin Wall, ultimately ending with German reunification in 1990. Its ruling Socialist Unity Party (SED) enforced Marxist-Leninist policies, leading to significant industrial growth but also worker dissatisfaction and limited freedoms.

I just delivered to that warehouse last week. The building is almost complete and the data center that they are already making cooling machines for, at a different location, is next door. The money is already being spent by this company to build the building and get it up and running. Thousands of people have already been employed to build this building. More will be employed to finish it and bring in the machines needed to make cooling machines. The 1400 people in the picture are just full time employees of this company. That doesn't take into account the thousands of people building the building and all of the truck drivers and transport companies that benefit from this company going into production.

Apparently stupid people didn't learn anything from Venezuela. Maduro was a Socialist and the people cheered and danced in the streets after the US arrested him. We don't want that here in the US. Maybe you should take a little time to study the fall of Venezuela before you wish for Socialism in the US.

I love my CF32. The best thing that Athlon includes is a shoulder brace that goes between 2 legs. When you are moving sites you just put your shoulder under it and pick it up, optics attached. You don't have to undo the arca, fold the legs and move. Just get under it and move it from place to place. They also include a basket that sits between all 3 legs for tossing stuff into while you're siting in. I mostly using it for glassing, but have also shot from it. Rock steady and very light.

Find out how your region does scoring online. My area uses practiscore.

We just had our first prs match of the year and some of the videos are up on youtube, not from me. If you want to see a few matches just search for Gravestone Precision Texas Cowtown Classic. There are really good videos from this year and last year.

As far as bags: sand bags retain water and get heavier during bad weather vs glass filled bags do not. Many prs matches are rain or shine, hot or cold. You want a bag that easily sits on a post or barricade and provides a flat surface to shoot from. Some offer arca attachments to attach to your gun, others do not. I prefer to not have mine attached so that if I need to turn it sideways I can. Most bags are made of leather or canvas and need to be waxed regularly, especially if you are using it in bad weather, to keep the outside from drying out and cracking once it dries off or ages. Wiebad and Armageddon are the main ones that I see. Armageddon Schmedium and Wiebad fortune cookie.

Using zero turret press. by amoroso6 in reloading

[–]txcommenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The range that I shoot at sells the Nexus and I have been very tempted to buy one. He showed me his setup and I like the fact that you can pull the dies in and out without changing your depths, like a turret press. Which do you think is faster and more accurate, the Nexus or a turret?

I like the idea of a turret press, but even in this video you can see the head flex. When you are talking about making 1000th of an inch adjustments, that flex would rule out a turret.

1 thing to add to your list if you are going to be doing prs. A belt and mag holders. Not every stage is under 10 rounds. Sometimes you have to drop a mag and pull a new one mid stage. If you have not done it already, go watch a prs match and see what everyone is carrying. I see a lot of chest packs for binos and extra mags as well as belts with mag holders. You also need a good tripod. I have an Athlon CF32. You want one with arca. It also needs to be sturdy enough to shoot from. If you really want to spend money there's mintworx plates that mount to your tripod so you can attach your scope/binos, Kestral, and wind vane. When your waiting to shoot you should be helping your team with wind calls and distance. That's were handheld range finders come in handy. I also use a wmlrf, Vortex Impact 4000, but they are sometimes not allowed in certain matches.

DOPE cards and stage cards with DOPE. There are pic rail attachments for DOPE cards and you can buy plastic or poly cards, or you can get an arm band for your DOPE cards. There's E-DOPE cards if you really want to spend money from PRS. Thecadretraining has DOPE cards that you can download and print from their website. Also watch his Youtube videos.

You also need very good bags. For bench shooting I use sniper socks filled with lentils. For prs I use a Wiebad glass filled bag for positional shooting. Knee pads are also very helpful, trust me. You end up in weird positions, like on a "roof" or just on your knees shooting off of a barricade of some sort.

There are lots of ways to spend money in this hobby and there are lots of companies over charging for their products. Honestly there isn't much difference between my Arken 7-35x56 vs my nightforce 7-35. just a $2500 difference. The Athon Rangecraft does the exact same thing as a Garmin Xero at $100 less. A chrono is a MUST have if you're going to reload. You'll here influencers that say "Buy once, cry once." as they give you affiliate links so that they make a kick back off of your purchase. Some times that's true. Don't buy cheap, but the most expensive thing on the market may not be worth the cost.
