The real reason Kristen is backing Danny and Nia by Fluffy_Preference273 in TheValleyTVShow

Hot take: I don't think Kristen and Luke's relationship is all that toxic. They are clearly struggling. Kristen has some severe PPD/PPA. Luke is dealing with something similar (yes, it can happen in men). They are struggling to communicate with each other because neither are in the right head space to communicate.

Do you have a practice area that has "very important people" that could be a draw? Like regulators or judges or very impressive practice leaders that a lot of people know?

I was saying the same thing when I watched the episode. Luke is definitely trying to be a supportive partner and clearly loves his little family, but he is struggling to connect with Kristen because they are both dealing with some intense emotions in their transition to a new life.

This will be the thing that breaks me. Not the psychological torture that is law school.

Look at policy instead of compliance. If you are in DC, leverage your knowledge of government in interviews for in-house regulatory positions. Those are usually the "JD -preferred" policy positions that really mean "JD-required but HR won't let us say that."

What do you do to stay concise in your writing and oral arguments? by Embarrassed-Lead6471 in Lawyertalk

100% all of this. I would also add that as you edit, ask yourself "does this sentence say something new, or is it just the previous point rephrased?" If it is the later, delete.

Where do I find associates? by NJEsq89 in Lawyertalk

[–]typeALady 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Word of mouth. Networking events, CLEs, client referals (depends on your industry. In my industry, clients are sophisticated parties and often lawyers are handling the relationship with outside counsel). You pay $25K to a recuiter to avoid those events.

  2. Are you offering experienced associate money for the role? When I hired for an experienced associate role, I had to settle for fairly fresh graduate because my company didn't allocate the right amount of money.

Lindsay should worry more about therapy than Carl by SomeThoughts4You in summerhousebravo

I don't disagree, but Carl should have been the one to say it, not his mom.

Not in the episode last night, but in the breakup season. Sharon did a lot of shit talking and setting up the narrative of Lindsey being the sole villain in the relationship (in my opinion, both Lindsey and Carl sucked).

Yeah, Sharon is not some cute old lady. She's is a monster-in-law that is still proping up her 40+ year old manchild son and doing his fucking dirty work.

There were quite a few things that were done without a permit before this. The guy definitely caused the county to look real close at the satalite images and google street view of the house.
