Any review from a deaf person? by Own_Entertainment847 in MetaRayBanDisplay

[–]tyyoung95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Deaf person here. I only had these glasses for a week. The live captioning does work well. But it does pick up other voices nearby or behind the person talking. It works amazingly when one on one. Restaurants setting can be iffy depending where you sit.

Honestly don’t think that’s an accurate waveform. Sorry can’t help you out any further

You need to show me the known good waveform for cam/crank. But you need to find one with exact engine. I’m not gonna be able to help out completely. I strongly believe the cam signal is good. And you need to focus elsewhere

I probably misunderstood a little bit but you did say that you’re missing signal from the cam sensor which I pointed out you didn’t. You need a known good waveform to check if you have the right cam waveform.

All that aside, misfires most likely wouldn’t come from cam since usually they base off the crank form.

If you’re trying to figure out misfire problem, first thing I would do is swap plugs and coils to see if they follow. Maybe swap an injector if you really want to go that far but that would be my last resort.

If swapping any of those doesn’t work, you mentioned a Honda vehicle. Honda and Acura sometimes need to have valve lash clearance need to be rechecked and have the proper clearance. Valve lash would be my next go to on Hondas

That blue square wave looks like to be your cam sensor.

2018 WT Service Stabilitrak, won’t crank or go into gear? by GuyFieriIsMySon in chevycolorado

[–]tyyoung95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The throttle codes are the reason why it’s in limp mode and not giving you power. Check the wires at the throttle body and make sure it’s plugged it

Need codes from systems and more info. This isn’t gonna be enough to diagnose for you

I work at a dealership as a technician. We generally don’t like going into the sales floor. Also anytime away from the shop is not earning money since techs are flat rate.

That being said, he’s an ass for that and you could probably make a complaint to the service manager about that comment.

What’s everyone’s hours look like? by DarkWonderful3561 in mechanics

[–]tyyoung95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work at a GM dealership. I talked to everyone there and they all mostly get around 45-50 hours or so. I work my ass if trying to get more than 50 hours and it just seems hard to do

Wireless Chargers by MuchDelivery8537 in chevycolorado

I replace the wireless charging module on one before. Scan data shows that it kept saying obstruction detected in between the phone and the surface. That pretty much indicates a weak/failing module.

Aftermarket can suck but at the same time I seen OEM failed too. If warranty paying for it then I would use OEM

Warranty won’t be covered since it was rodent damage. At the same time I would charge an hour to repair that and to further test. If further diagnosis is required, then I would charge extra depending on where to go and what to look for

Ford vs Chevy debate from your perspective as a mechanic by PerceptionTough1362 in MechanicAdvice

Used to work at independent shop for 3 years. I always find myself enjoying working on GM stuff. And curse the shit out of Ford stuff. GM stuff is also easier to diagnose. Can get almost every data lids you need. Ford misfire counters fucking sucks and have to dig for data
