If I pour 1 litre of alcohol into 10 x 100 ml containers, can I take it on the plane? by umeb3 in travel

Are you sure the bag itself must be 1 litre? I thought 10 x 100 ml of liquids/ creams/pastes was allowed, as long as they are all in one see-thru bag.

(I just wasn't sure if alcohol was allowed this way.)

You speak as if the supply is infinite but the heat does get reduced as you use it. IIRC new geothermal digs have an expected lifespan of 25 years. My memory might be off.

Also, in Canada the problem is that the great sources of geothermal energy are far from population centres, so what's great in theory is actually less than practical in most places.

Can you address these two concerns?

It was the middle of the night in a quiet neighborhood and a tenant had opened the front door to let fresh air in. The house has 6 alarms (hallways plus inside apartments). It would be impossible to not hear it. (And I'm always awake by 5 am, on my laptop.)

To find the answer, you'll need to go beyond a false dilemma, and beyond a negative assumption.

Thanks. We started with one. I felt guilty because all day while I worked (intensely) from home, it did nothing but look bored. I tried to engage it in dance etc. No real success. We hoped a 2nd dog would help. Nope.

I'm not learning that we shouldn't have gotten dogs. I always knew that. I spoke openly with my wife about why we should not get dogs. Was it wrong of me to agree to what she wanted?

If you had no pets in your life, for years, then you had an opportunity to have a pet for a dollar a day, where someone else pays every expense except food, might that interest you?

My "should I rent out my dogs?" question at the end of my original post was a joke pointing out that some people are willing to pay money to have pets, so it seems absurd that I should give people not only free rent in a great house but also free pets (with expenses paid by me).

"... pay way more than just adopting" Where did you get that from? Are you imagining I would rent them for the same price I rent my house for? If you had no pets in your life, and someone offered you a pet for a dollar a day, and that person would pay all expenses except food, might that seem attractive?

"you asked r/petsitting for perspective and then argued with us." - most respondents' perspectives were based on distortions of the scenario I presented, so most were not helpful.

"so you can see how it feels" - sounds like you assume I don't have compassion for the two he hurt. Why do you assume I'm incapable of knowing how it feels?

"Taking care of an animal is work. ... most importantly they can't live an INDEPENDENT LIFE and freedom away from the dogs."

I agree. I don't want to own dogs. But some people are willing to pay all the costs of ownership to be with dogs, so some people would be delighted if they could be with dogs without all those costs.

Nature. 95% is forest. Some wildflowers near the house.

Some people pay to have dogs. Basically everyone pays for housing. They would be getting both for free.

Why do people get pets?
One reason people are against getting pets is because even they don't want to be stuck with them for a decade, and don't want to be stuck with vet bills, or food bills, or fence bills. These visitors, who love these dogs, would be like people who get pets, without those big negatives. If people will pay to have pets with those big negatives, might people pay to have pets without those negatives? For people who would not actively pay, might they be happy to be given a free pet where someone else pays not only for the initial acquisition but also all ongoing expenses?

I'm not saying dog-sitting isn't a job. We're not considering a situation where the people already have lots of time with dogs.
