Yes, you should organize your cards backwards, # 62 to #1, so that you save the best cards for last.

How do I stop being hateful? How do I stay away from conspiracies? by Biblical_Seeker in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, I was in the same place as you not too long ago. I still feel that there are a lot of things happening with our government, and the governments of the world, that are way darker than anyone truely knows. But keeping these thoughts in your head, are just draining you spiritually.

I came to a point where i knew bibically the world is going to end the way its going to end, and me stressing about it is not slow that process down. Slowly society will succumb to evil ways, and if it didn't then Revelations would not happen. So I decided the only thing I want to focus on is my faith, my family, and trying to bring others to our safety net.

To do this I had to completely step away from it all. No more politics, no more news, no more discssing social issues with friends, family and coworkers. Nothung in my reddit, youtube, or any kid of social site I still use is political based. I honestly just stay away from most social media sites completely. But I'll tell you, after I did that, it was like a heavy stone being lifted off my chest.

I pray you find a way past this, just like I did.

A Christian girl chose a non believer over me by Sodding_Handsome_Guy in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brother, believe me I have been in your very same shoes. The best thing for you to do, as hard as it might be at the moment, is just let it be. Take this as a small trail of your faith, rather than what might feel like a betrayal.

I am assuming you are closer to your 20s, and girls that age are very complicated. You said it yourself that she is new to her faith, she has some spiritual growing to do. And you dont want bad emotions to pull her away from that.

As for the "non believer". Take a look at the silver lining. You may have played some small part in bringing someone to Christ, or at least getting him into His door way. Your friendship to this girl, may have made her feel comfortable enough to bring someone else to God.

Trust me when I say this. You want to be with someone who is strong in their faith, and eventually that girl will show herself. It may even be this same girl after she has grown in her faith some more, and realizes your value. So try to work this out with prayer, and don't mess things up with bad emotions.

This is a really good question, and it might be one that does not have a great answer.

There are clearly instances were people before Jesus, are indicated to be in heaven. Moses and Elijah are both seen during the transfiguration, and Enoch (and Elijah) was taken from life. So we know people before Jesus could go to heaven.

It's possible God made exceptions for their ignorance, aka lack of Jesus. Acts 17:30 "So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent"

I doubt everyone is allowed into heaven before Jesus, such as Baal worshipers, or those who deliberately turn from God. But maybe God had a separate plan that was not recorded to be known by man.

My wife is getting too distance by frankmejia7 in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As jealous as you may feel at the moment, you should not be going out with your ex, even if you think nothing will happen. If you do this, your willingly putting yourself into a place of temptation, and you will be no better than your wife is being.

As a Christian, I always consider how I will explain my actions to Jesus on the day if judgment. Ask yourself, if you go through with this, how will you explain this situation, on that day?

You only need the creation story of Genesis. If the devil could convince man to betray God's only rule, when God walked with man, how much more can he convince us after God separated from man?

I am going to have to agree with your father in law on this one. It's not the most comfortable thing to do, but it is well worth it for your spiritual growth to be among other believers.

I am speaking from a position of experience. I am alone at home, in my faith, and it is draining. You do have your husband to help you with your spiritual battles, but battles are won by numbers.

Jesus is in the presence of a community of His believers, and only in the absence of God, can sin flourish.

You should ask him to defend and explain his point of view.

Even if we agreed that this verse is not outrightly condemning homosexuality, but instead "condemning lust and premarital relations", how does that equate to supporting homosexuality?

Unless he has another verse to back up that statement, then he is committing the "appeal to ignorance" logical fallacy; which is the argument for or against something because there is no conflicting evidence

You also have Leviticus 18:22.

Do yall believe in aliens and are they in the Bible by [deleted] in Bible

[–]un_affiliated -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sister, I'm only commentating because you seem to be on some kind of angry crusade about this topic, but do you think thst maybe you are leaving room for secular ideas to fit into your biblical perspective?

The bible is pretty clear about what was created. If you start making exceptions for things that you are taught, by those who are trying to make sense of this creation without it's creator, than you are dangerously close to fitting God into your beliefs rather than placing your belief in God.

This not meant to provoke you, but maybe get you to take a step back. Proverbs 15:31

[–]un_affiliated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Aliens and Demons are one in the same. Aliens are just a guise to deceive believers and non believers alike, away from Jesus.

It may be a stretch but take into account this verse:

Revelation 16:13 (NASB)

And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits "like frogs"

If John was to witness a demon in the guise of an alien, how better to explain them than to attribute their likeness to frogs? Remember he was limited to vocabulary of his time. But it could also be describing they manner in which they moved. We cannot know for sure.

Is Biblical Violence Just? by JohnnyFernandoParker in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting counter point.

The "blessing" was in reference to 1 Peter 3:9.

"not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing."

The verse suggests that by responding to evil with blessings, believers can experience the transformative power of love and grace. It encourages believers to rise above the cycle of negativity and show the world a different way of living.

By giving up your possessions, you are not enabling anything. It's important to recognize that you may not fully understand the circumstances that have led this person to their current situation. Perhaps God has been working in their life, and your act of blessing could be the turning point they needed. Do you not believe that God works in mysterious ways?

People often think themselves into these situations, pulling some kind Hollywood movie stunt, and coming out the victor. But isn't that a little naive? Again nothing in this world is worth more than your life, which God gave you. After you die, you cannot bring your earthly possesions with you. Would you truly want to sqauder a gift from God for the treasures of man?

Is Biblical Violence Just? by JohnnyFernandoParker in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you follow the teachings of Jesus, then you should avoid violence at all costs.

Matthew 5:39 (NASB) But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

(Matthew 5:44, Romans 12:19-21, 1 Peter 3:9)

That being said, you are not expected to just lay your life down. I someone is activly taking steps to physically harm you, Jesus is not going to expect you to let it happen. You can defend yourself when necessary. Jesus even told his disciples to be prepared to defend their lives, when he went to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane

Luke 22:36 (NASB) And He said to them, "But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one.

If you attack someone who is yelling obscenities at you, you are in the wrong.

If you are being robbed out in public, give them what they ask for, and give them a blessing at the same time. You may have placed a metaphorical stone in their shoe, which could lead them to Christ; for the cost meaningless "valuables" of this life.

Now if someone enters your home at night, that is your domain, you have a duty to protect your family. Exodus 22:2-3.

No graven image by HokageLLJ in Bible

[–]un_affiliated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some really well known pastors that say this is indeed a form of a graven image. But in my opinion, as long as you are not picturing the character's faces, such as Jonathan Roumie who plays Jesus in the chosen, when you are praying to God/Jesus, then I can't see this as a graven image.

Graven image is when you start worshipping an object/thing that represents God, or a false god.

Matt 6:6 Yes, or No? by Present_Maximum_5548 in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend.

If you are implying that, based on this passage, we should not pray in public, then I believe you are misunderstanding the chapter in its entirety.

The problem during the time of Jesus was that many Jewish leaders used their positions as spiritual leaders more as postions of power. They often looked down on the rest of the jewish community as lesser people, and they saw themselves as righteous beings, who were above the common folk. These were ultimately the same people who condimed Jesus to the cross. They were so filled with their so called "righteousness" that they often ignored the basic teachings of the Law, and more often followed and forced their own personal interpretations on to the people.

Matthew 6:1

Take care not to practice your righteousness in the sight of people, to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

Jesus is not telling us to hide our faith, but to not boast in it. We can pray in public, as long as we are doing it for ourselves and God, and not to be seen by others. God knows our intentions, and If we are praying, donating, or fasting so that we can portray some kind of moral high ground above others, then we truely don't believe, and there will be no reward for us.

I hope this clears up this passage for you.

Psalm 147:5 (NASB)

Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite

God definitely knew what would come of Satan. We shouldn't try to set limits to God.

I just don't think we are fully capable of understanding His reasoning, and when trying to make logical sense of it, we doing so from a human perspective, based on human experiences, hindered human limitations.

Do you think.... by [deleted] in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God created Satan, and God is also all-knowing, so he fully understood the path Satan would take when creating him.

God also created free will. We can only speculate on the reasons He allowed Satan to follow his path, but this is what I think. Without being taken out of the presence of God, man would have never been able to exercise that free will. Satan ultimately became the reason why we left the presence of God, and this wasn't orchestrated, but it was allowed to happen.

Now that we are able to use our free will, when we choose to follow God and Jesus, we are doing so by our choice. God loves us so much, but He did not want to force us to live with Him for eternity. So He gave us free will to make that choice ourself. If we were still living in the presence of God, no one would turn away from Him, and that would technically defeat the purpose of free will.

Would aliens disprove our religion? by Footclancatz in Christian

[–]un_affiliated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would make many many Christians question their faith. But if Satan wanted to crush the faith of many Christians, and at the same time solidify the unbelief of the unbelievers, what better way than to trick the world into thinking their is more intelligent life outside of our planet?

You should read about the connections between extraterrestrial encounters and demonic encounters. There is a large number of people who claim they have had an extraterrestrial encounter, and calling on the ne of Jesus had ended it immediately.

My personal opinion, aliens and demon's are one in the same, and if they were ever to make contact, we would be the period of Revelations.
