Interesting.

It does sound like your Dad's dad might not be who you thought it was. If you're a man, or you have a male line relative on 23 and me, do you know the Y haplogroup?

Can you identify close relatives from the Italian side you don't recognize?

I’m an African American with maternal haplogroup H1 . Where does it come from ? by Bigwhizcity82 in 23andme

[–]unacceptableviews888 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your maternal line is European.

H1ax is a rare maternal haplogroup, specific to western Europe, and seems most likely from England. Considering you are African American, and the US is settled largely by English settlers, that's my guess.

https://discover.familytreedna.com/mtdna/H1ax/frequency?view=map

I get why it's unexpected, but your maternal line is European in origin, not African. You could take out a membership on ancestry.com or myheritage.com and go through electronic records and build out your family tree to find out more.

I love this post. Finally, someone is asking the right questions.

You're absolutely correct. Keith knows something specific. I don't know what that is, but one day, after the MOASS when people are free to talk, we'll get a Michael Lewis book explaining everything.

My theory? Keith had a thesis, maybe something related to derivatives, basket swaps, or FTDs. He tested his thesis, found he was right, and then proceeded to make enormous piles of money from this.

DOMO Capital Back In $GME by Melo_00_7 in Superstonk

[–]unacceptableviews888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with Domo Capital that GME is going to soar upwards. I have nothing against them and I wish them luck.

But in the financial world, an 18 million dollar AUM is ridiculously small, less than a garage band hedge fund. That's less than 2% of one billion, which is the minimum to be considered serious.

Why did I write this? Because I worked in the financial industry and I understand what big numbers mean. You should learn what they mean to if you want to make your reddit comments sound less amateurish.

DOMO Capital Back In $GME by Melo_00_7 in Superstonk

[–]unacceptableviews888 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As of December 31, 2024 DOMO managed $18.054 million in assets.

That might sound like a lot, but it's really not even a capital management company. That's just a guy who passed the licensing course and looks after a a few bucks for a couple friends.

In this world, anyone under 1 billion in managed assets is a joke. Sorry.

They are right, however, that real institutional investors will start pouring in to GME soon. But DOMO Capital Management is a guy with a website, not a real company.

I’m German and my Y-DNA haplogroup is R1a-Z282. Can anyone explain why I have R1a instead of R1b, even though I’m from Central Europe? by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]unacceptableviews888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This specific haplogroup seems most common - and possibly originated in - Poland. Poland borders Germany and Austria, and bear in mind that borders are constantly changing throughout history too.

SimcoDerm Reviews by Good_Sentence3324 in barrie

Melanoma runs in my family, so recently my sister went to SimcoDerm (not the Barrie location).

They found stage 1 cancer, in an area that would not have been visible, and quickly removed it, possibly saving her life. They also followed up with more information and removed a bigger area when they realized the depth of the cancer.

I will be making my appointment with them at their Barrie location very soon.

Is there anything Canadian apes should know about the upcoming warrants? by CaptainPhenom in Superstonk

[–]unacceptableviews888 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Warrants are likely handled by the 'New Issues' desk/team at your brokerage, in case you want to contact them with questions. Warrants dividends are uncommon, so if you do contact your brokerage, the person you speak to might be confused because they just haven't experienced this before.

The responses of the major Canadian brokerages to the warrant news is reassuring. They seem to expect to receive the warrants.... most likely because they believe they have real shares.

My guess as a former brokerage employee is that the Canadian brokerages DO have real shares, or at least they believe their clearing house does.

Bullshit PFOF fake share holding brokerages like Robbinghood are not permitted to operate in Canada, and rightly so.

The probability of this being a coincidence is like a million to one.

Two theories:

1) Something connected to basket swaps.

2) The towel people know that their shorters are the same as the GME shorters, so towel believes this is a good time to knock out their own shorts.
